promoting chest growth in a 3 day split..

originally posted in teen thread but i'm tired of using that section..

so far this year i've made satisfactory progress and development on my thighs and my chest is a slow and steady process.. i'm on a 3 day split routine as of now (use to be 4) with triceps/chest monday, legs/core/shoulders wednesday, back/biceps friday.. now i was thinking of merging my friday workout to wednesday and doing another chest workout on friday.. as far as packing on mass and promoting growth goes, would this help me or hurt me?

When specialising on a muscle here are a few tips that worked for me:

Train it harder while training other muscles at maintenace levels.

Train it with more intensity, more variety of exercises, more sets, more frequency etc. In order to do this, you need to cut back on other muscles.
