I started out training at home too. You can do pretty well with a home gym, but an actual gym is WAY better. LA Fitness is pretty badass too.

Indeed! I used to go to the YMCA in Lake Mary several years ago. Haven't been in an actual gym since and i miss the atmosphere. lol

I went to the YMCA in Lake Mary a few years back as well. It was a nice gym, not a whole lot of equipment, but a friendly atmosphere. I like LFF a lot better though. More equipment, and more friendly people.

I'm currently going to Lifestyles Family Fitness in Lutz, but will be going to LA Fitness starting on June 15th, when it opens in New Tampa (Northern Tampa).
It's gonna be huge. 45,000 sq feet, 2 pools, basketball/tennis/raquetball courts, etc. All for $34 a month, 10 bucks cheaper than Lifestyles.

To what i remember, they added a bunch when they remodeled. I've gone but a couple times with a friend, but not for a class. To what i've seen, its not that bad.

Don't get me wrong, YMCA isn't a bad gym to workout at. Especially if it has the pool.  I just like LFF better.

LOL the one thing I hate about LFF is the music played. Very lame teenage girl pop music like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, etc is what's usually on. I need to get an ipod.. lol

LOL Now that I can't argue with or deny. I use an MP3 player all the time. It also drowns out the people who scream bloody murder while lifting and drop the throw the weights down after every single set.

ah. I'm debating on where to go. I've been leaning towards LA Fitness cause of the location, but I wouldn't mind going back to the Y as a full memeber. On top of that, all of my friends go to different gyms, so I get input on just about every gym in the city. lol

Then I'd go to the one that the friends you would workout the most go to. That was the first thing that got me to LFF. The guys I do martial arts go there and they got me going and now I love it.
