Too much fat?
This will be my 2nd time on keto, last year it worked wonders for me. I gained so much weight during the holidays and really want to lean out for summer. I want to lose about 15-20 lbs and shed lots of body fat! I have been reading lots about CKD and think I have a pretty good idea how to get going. This will be week two- I didn't carb up this past weekend. Keto stix read postive. Feeling good. However, I didn't see alot of weight loss the first week...even though it's usually water weight. Could I be eating too much fat in my diet?
A typical diet is:
MEAL 1: 4 egg omelet with veggies sauteed in olive oil. 2 cups coffee with heavy cream and splenda.
MEAL2: handful of almonds, a lettuce salad with ranch dressing
MEAL 3: Cheeseburger with a salad, ranch dressing.
MEAL 4: Whey shake with 2 tbsp flax seed...more coffee with cream.
MEAL 5: Steak and veggies OR Fish and veggies
MEAL 6: Boiled eggs or few slices of cheese before bed.
I take a multi vitamin, vitamin c, vitamin b, and fish oil. Any critiques???

That looks like a lot of food for someone your size. What are your calorie totals and macros?

That seems like a ton of food. I'm 50lbs heavier than you and I don't think I could eat that much if I was trying to cut.

Honestly I didn't figure my macros...just trying to wing it I guess. I did something simliar last year and it worked great. Plus I figured I would get into ketosis quickly the more fat and protein I got into m system. I don't intend to keep this diet! I know I need to clean it up. If anyone can calcuate or give som suggestions that would be great!

Aim for about 14 cals per pound of lean mass. 1g of protein per pound LBM, 20g of carbs and the rest fat. The foods you are eating are fine (more veg wouldn't hurt) but unless you are breastfeeding while training for a triathlon, there's too much of it.

I used to have fun when I was breastfeeding, I'd get calculators that reckoned I should be eating about 4000 cals a day. I wish....

I think everyone else is dead on - it looks like you're eating a ton of food. That has to be over your maintenance right?? I don't care what kind of diet you're on, if you're eating over your maintenance level then you're not going to lose weight. I hope you didn't lose water weight.....but gain "real" weight!

Swap one of those meals for another protein shake and you'd be good.
Also be wary of salad dressings. Rather then having two salads with ranch, have one and swap the other one with a TBSP or two of peanut butter. my $0.02
