you have a cute face. I am sure it will be a huge make over if you drop some weights and add some style.
I am not trying to offend you. when I see overweight woman with cute face, I just say to myself 'wow she would be very hot if she lose some weight'

Hi Eileen,
My first attempt @ using my husbands complicated digital camera and taking pictures in the mirror didn't come out so good-but I added what I have anyway. Theres a few more in my bodyspace.

I've had 3 kids, and am almost 45yrs old, and I used to wear a size 14 when I started this journey a few years ago. (almost 3 years now....WOW!)

I am going to buy myself one of those low priced "digital camera for dummies", so if I get better photographs-I will upload them. I am nowhere near a six pack-but you can see the ab strip in the photos I uploaded. I am not sure about my body fat-Omron tells me 23.75%, and the calipers tell me closer to 20%. Not sure-but I am working on a cut now after an ummm..."unintentional" bulk.....LOL.

The transformation articles are great , they really keep me going. I have more work to do but I was very chubby ( and that is being nice ) I was 230lbs and I'm only 5' 2 . I am now down to 135lbs and I am now eating clean lifting weights and feel great. This fall I was able to do a 9 hour hike at Zion National Park with my teen daughter, neices and nephews , I call that fit for a former chubby 44 year old. So if I can do it , I know it is possible.

I hate to piggy back on this thread but the originator made me think about my own body transformation goals. I work third shift and I can tell you that working at this odd time has caused me to gain a bit a weight. I struggle with my diet because I am programmed to eat during the day but my waking cycle is night-time. For someone like me, what would you recommend as far as eating? I know I should be eating every 4 hours but there are times when I am awake for 20 hours. I don't want to jeopardize my work nor do I want to push my body into starvation mode (forcing it to hang onto every gram of fat).

you can definately go from 180 to 130 but be realistic about your time frame. Doing it by July/August is a bit too aggressive. You can make some drastic improvement during that time so stay positive. You will get to where you want to be, best of luck to you.

girl i startd out at 240....i felt uncomfortable..i felt like a awlking dresser if that makes sense.

im down to 218 right now..no where near my goal but getting their...give me a year or two and ill be matching pics with these girls lol. not every fit woman started out with the genetics of a goddess. im a freaking endomorph if i ever met one...ive been all ove rthe place with the scale.

look at it this way..the girls that start out really big..are good inspirations to other girls on the same road. i used to get self concious walking into the gym or exercise classes..always chose the bike in the back for spinning....after awhile you start giong ou know what...who cares...ill get their evenetually and tons of girls at the gym dont work out anyways, just do the elliptical for 10 min and go whew i had a good workout...(not bb girls of course)

it sucks sometimes. and ill be honest....guys on this website can be flat outa ssholes....ive been called fat, chubby, told to kill myself, called a whore etc etc.....all becaus ei dont fit into the bb girl girl look right now...DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM..they are lil insecure boys. the real men come to our forums rofl.

be realistic....set goals...dont get frustrated it happens..i know i have a year to lose the next 60lbs...i also know after that im still not done cause i want to do crazy crap like compete in a triathlon one day for some weird reason now lol.....so in 3 years you'll either be going damn i kicked ass when i started diong this 3 years ago and now im a freaking hottie tottie lol. or you'll be going damnit i wish i would of started eating cleaner back then.

gotta find out what motivates you, and go with it.

I started at 185 lbs a year and six weeks ago. I am so happy that I did this and I feel so much better about myself. I also thought that it wouldn't take as long as it did but I held on and never gave up even if I found myself at the bottom of an ice cream container. You have to learn to forgive yourself if you mess up (it happens) and get right back on track. You need patience and time...don't expect a miracle weight loss to happen overnight. Don't get into the habit of weighing yourself everyday either it will only stress yourself out. Be consistent with your workouts, diet and tracking your progress. I'm sure there are lots of women on here who started out chubby they just don't want to post their chubby "before" pics like I do! Good luck!

I just wanted to wish you well! You CAN do it!! At my heaviest I weighed 170 lbs! I am 5'4" so thats a lot. It took me about 1 year to get to 145lbs, now this is without ever feeling deprived or even "dieting." I just went to the gym 5 days a week (a TON of cardio! Spinning, elliptical and running galore!). Then gradually I started to incoporate weights and dropped down to 135. I did this in 2 years. In the past year and a half I have really been busting my butt and dieting (actually counting calories and saying 'no' to yummy high carb goodies) and I have managed to drop to 124. Now I am just getting greedy and trying to get to 115-118lbs! hahaha.. No, I just really want to tone and get my body to my "ideal" size.

Im sure you can do this probably a whole lot faster with discipline and structure. If I had started dieting & exercising the way I do now it would have taken me a lot less than 3 years!

Just hang in there! Find something that will motivate you to lose weight. I keep an old picture of myself at my heaviest around at all times (I dont have a scanner, or else I would gladly show it to you). I also see pictures of my "goal body" (different celebrities and athletes) and that helps too.

Its all about yourself and how you want to feel. YOU really have to want it and you have to do it for YOU!! Also, listen to your body and remember that truly losing weight and remaining healthy is a change of lifestyle not just a fad or some passing craze in your life.

I wish you the best!!!

I'm looking for motivation but it seems most of the gorgeous women here started out fairly fit or skinny and gained muscle. Are there any women who started out fat or chubby and now look awesome? I have been looking at the "transformation" pages, but big women starting out seems to be a rarity... tell me that it CAN be done?

I'm hoping to post my own transformation photos in July/August. I'm keeping track of my workouts and my diet.... I'll be posting soon. I love this website and can't wait to post before and after photos! (Really can't wait to post a bikini photo!)

Girls! Help!
Prove that my 180lb ass can become a 130lb ass!

I have done it MANY of time...once was 215 and went to 135 in 6 months.

Now 180 and ready to hit it again. What I do works....diet and exersize. Just need a partner who is as motovated as me and can do the 5am thing for 6 months...just 105 hours of time and you cannot believ e what a transformation. It only takes 2 hours pper day there after to maintinan. When I blow off the healthy eating and do not do 2 hours a week to maintian I go back up. It's been 3 yrs and I have not went back to 215 but trust me...180 is bad enough.

But yes girl...it can be done. I have lost weight and totally reshaped on many of occasion. Just wish I could stick to the healthy diet and 2 hours per week or i would not have to keep starting over again and again.

I started out at 210 pounds. I do not look great now, but I look much better than I did in 2006. I still have a ways to go with working with weights and getting some much needed muscle, but I am far happier here than I was over the 200 mark. I had gotten down to 125 before I started lifting weights. Then I started lifting weights and stopped weighing myself, and I got back up to 150 pounds. I am now back down to 138 pounds, and working my way to at least 125 pounds. It is always a work in progress, and something you just have to do everyday, but well worth it I think.

my 2 cents

it's probably only worth 2 cents...but i started out pretty healthy (luckily i grew up with a health conscious family and tons of sports)

I have gone up and down on the scale through the years.........i just wanted to emphasize...as so many others have, that yes it can be done.....and i personally think it's 80% DIET, 10% lifting and 10% genetics.....

Clean eating is the key to your success!!

right now my life is upside down (no i'm not making excuses so i don't want to start getting cussed at) but my routine has wavered....i will say that i am usually able to maintain my weight by diet alone.....and then i make gains in strength, endurance and of course lose weight when i'm working out.......

also...remember the journey is just as important as the destination.

in a few months you'll gain so much more respect for yourself and confidence when you see the discipline you HAVE TO HAVE to get to your goals....

good luck!!

Awesome quote. I heard it in a movie about a guy competing in gymnastics (Peace Warrior, I think it was).

It's about taking every day at a time and make the most out of it.

Sure, setting goals is key, but don't be overwhelmed by them. Just take the necessary steps to make every workout, every meal and every day count! You don't know what's for you tomorrow, all you have is now. Go for it.

Motivation is a huge factor too. I think finding something to motivate you like a carrot in front of a rabbit, helps. My motivation isOxygen magazine and checking out this site/blogging/reading the forums. The transformation page is awesome too. I want to wow on there someday. I started at 182lbs now I'm 165lbs 4 months later. Trying to lose another 15-20lbs for my new goal. Stay motivated girl you can do it!!

For you ladies that have lost about 70lbs., how did you do it? What kind of exercises, frequency, etc. did you do? Any special diet or supplements that you recommend? This thread has me inspired. Thanks.

you just need patience and motivation. It won't happen overnight so don't get frustrated when it gets tough. just being on here shows you want to make it happen so I think you will accomplish what you want to

Im not a chick, but I did the following to lose 80lbs, and I did it in about 10 months, and have maintained the weight or there abouts for 2 1/2 years now.

Alchol free for the time, and rarely drink nowdays.
Cardio each day, on the 8/12 plan (sprint for 8 seconds, steady for 12, repeat for 30 minutes)
1/2 hour walk at lunch time most days at work
weight train 4 times weekly.
Eat clean, yet I didnt follow the "Carbs are bad" thing, if anything I ate plenty of carbs"
If I was watching TV I would be cycling slow on a bike, doing crunches and pushups during ads.
Lived, ate and breathed healthy!
Only ate out once a month, at best.
Ignore social functions and events to go home and workout.

It was hard, really hard work, but I can tell you that what was harder was being obese with back problems. Maintenance is so much easier, however you have to do the super hard yards first in order to get to that level.

Wink lose the jello

April of 2008 I weighed in at 223 lbs Size 20W. My current weight is 154 lbs. size 12. Ive been maintaining for many months now due to having surgery, but now that I have the green light from the doctor I plan to burn off the fat while building muscle. I do cardio on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and lift on Mon, Tue, Thurs, Friday. Starting tomorrow I am adding 30 Minutes of cardio to my lifting days, hopefully this will help me lose the "Jello".
