i have to agree that skip is cocky...but i dont blame him cmon, he looks pretty damn good and has 3 prophies or whatever.
And he gives a lot of help to ppl in need so its not that bad.
and that skinny **** looks nothing like him...

I never post anymore (just read/look at pics for inspiration), but I NEED to say two things:
1) Trophies mean nothing. I say that for two reasons;
a) There will always be better physiques and worse physiques than yours, so placing in one contest isnt saying much (i.e.- you could compete and win 1st in some little local show because the physiques are not that great but on a higher level you mgiht find yourself taking last so ultimately ur trophies don't SAY much).
b) Like the kid said before, "It's abotu the competition against yourself" (the mentality Layne has). It isn't about winning, but meeting and exceeding your goals...anyone who has competed with the "proper" bodybuilding mindset will tell you that. If you really want something that holds meaning...TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR GAINS AND PROGRESS...it will mean so much more to you years down the line than any piece of metal.
Don't get me wrong...winning is fantastic and deserves much praise - it is very hard to do. However, the trophy (symbol of winning/winning itself) is NOT what bodybuilding or competing is about (read the two reasons I gave above).
THE SECOND THING I HAVE TO SAY IS:
Skip...he is a great member of this community and has contributed more than the vast majority of people on this board to both competing and beginning bodybuiilders - he is humble if ANYTHING. Although some of you may think he is "goofy" looking (which I disagree with completely) his gorgeous wife thinks otherwise. BESIDES that I've thought about it and I don't see how commenting (criticizing) someone's looks on here contirbutes to that individuals progress in bbing...arent we evaluating physiques? And if so...Skip has a fantastic one, lest we forget symetry and muscle density - great chest and delts.
Just so I don't throw this thread off topic (although I'm afraid I might have) I'll post a pic or two. I also apologize if I offended anyone in my post - that would be the last thing I would want to happen. Thanks
