How much cheating until it effects your physique?
I usually cheat about once a week. Not really a huge cheat sometimes I'll go to a buffet or something but usually ice cream or some fast food. How often do you guys cheat but is once a week too much?

once a week is fine i believe. i cheated bad all last week for 7 days. i gained like 5 pounds and it definetley messed with my phsyique. i will never do it again. once a week should not hurt u at all. i normally go 1 or 2 weeks eating good and then go out to a restauraunt for a good meal.

if u gained 5lbs of real weight..not bloating that's ridiculous because u must have eaten about 18,000cals+your maitinence for the day..
OP cheating isnt gonna kill u once a week especially bulking..i think it helps i get a pump after eating a huge carb meal..love it.

over the saturday and sunday easter weekend i gained 7 lbs. granted most of it was water weight, but 5.5 lbs went away after 3 good days of dieting. i good cheat meal every 4 days would probably be ok, as long as theyre not cheat days

ussually have a small cheat snack daily if im bulking and once a week to none if cutting.

over spring break i had kind of a cheat week (actually only 3 days), but it really made a difference in the way i look. i can really see the change. its not really a big deal, but i can see it around my core. that was weeks ago, and i have been back on my diet and workouts and its getting back there
the cheat was mostly made up of beer, mcdonalds, and lots of potato chips and junk food.

^^That's what I agree with...as long as your calories aren't crazy over your maintenance and you can still keep your protein pretty high, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to have 1 "cheat meal" a day.

haha i love this topic! The night after my first competition i ate 3 large pizzas in the course of 15hours. The drive home was 4 hours and when i got home i stayed up all night wathching movies and eating pizza. I threw up the next morning 3 times and i could not see my abs for a week and a half lol! hahah
once a week cheating is fine if your diet for the 6 days is good. In fact cheating boosts up your leptin levels and plus you dont go nuts from dieting so long. 6 days have to be strict though.

It depends what you mean by cheating. A cheat day for me involves eating about a week's worth of calories.
Obviously I can't have a cheat every week, because if I did I'd be eating double what I need every week.

well... technically once. I just diet during the week and if I go out drinking and order some qdoba or pizza or something, so be it, who gives a crap.

imo if your training hard, maybe doing some cardio, and keep to your diet the majority of the time a "cheat" wont do sh!t besides make you feel guilty (if you let it) try going on a cheat DAY and i doubt you will have any side affects besides feeling good and having more energy in the gym. a cheat MEAL is perfectly fine and actually has quite a few benefits. are you referring to a cheat as being "cheat foods" or going over your preset caloric limit, because there is a difference...

It's fine. I started cutting and i'm cheating 2 days a week, but reasonably.
For example on saturday I'll have one meal with sparguetti or rice (pasta it's a definitely NO on the weekdays). Then on Sunday I'll have a true cheat meal (pizza, fast food, or whatever goes in my mind).
Not only it gives a psycological reliff but it also keeps your body and metabolism guessing.

this semester was one huge stress filled sleep deprived cheat meal for me. it shows on my chest. ffffuuuu my life. once school is over i'll finally be able to cut in peace. too bad i'll be working from 6-5 every weekday lulz.

Bulking I never do, cause i usually get my fixes from a PB&J. Cutting I do like once a week. The most important thing is to not get hung up on cheat meals. Don't let it stress you out.
