Going to Austin in a few hours!!! Advice... (5k reps)
Got an interview down there tomorrow, flying down tonight. Never visited before but I've heard it's unreal. One of my buddies goes to law school at UT so I'm gonna meet up with him Friday night.
Anybody used to the area? I know 6th street is the hot spot, but is there anything else really important I should check out if I'm considering moving down there?
Also, apartments. I have to live in an urban setting. The denser the area the better. I know just north of the river (south part of downtown) looks like the biggest area, would that be the best spot to look at apts? I've done tons of research on the net and found plenty of apartments (Monarch, AMLI, etc) but I'd like to hear from someone who's used to the area as well.
Will rep for good help or pictures of really hot girls from Austin.

I only visited for couple weeks there for training purposes for work about a year ago. I wish i could help with all your questions, but i just chimed in to say that 6th street IS unreal. The girls there are gorgeous and this is coming from a california guy. Good luck with your interview btw.

Hit up 6th street and you'll have a good time for sure. I live down here for now and I'm not a huge fan of the place. I like Dallas better but it's not too bad down here.
You can come lift with me at lifetime haha
If you wanna live here, I'd check out north Austin. Probably cheaper and way nicer of a place. It's where I live and I really like it more than the south side.
Check this site out to find out whats going on around here http://www.austin360.com

My brother lives on riverside and he loves it. I have visited him many times and it is really close to downtown but it is like a residential area. No matter where you are in Austin you can get to downtown pretty quickly. Its really not that big of a city. You will love it.

I go to UT and I have to say that living on West Campus is a necessity(MLK Drive to about 29th street). It's probably the most densely populated area of fine ass in Texas (serious). Plus there's sorority houses everywhere if that's your kind of thing. As for attractions here, I'd say go check out the capitol building if you want something museum-like. If you ever want to take a girl somewhere take her to Zilker botanical garden. 6th street is definitely insane. There's so many people there that they close down the entire street to cars on Friday and Saturday nights. Also check out the arboretum, as it's a pretty nice area though a little farther from downtown.

/envy austinites.
Shooting for UT for law school and if I don't go there, probably practice there. New York pay and a low cost of living.
