Pre-contest diet

My contest diet consists of:
egg whites
oatmeal
chicken breast
tuna
protein shakes
rice cakes
rice
baked potato

I was wondering if it is okay to have dairy products such as milk or cottage cheese in a pre-contest diet, as well as fruit??

And is it okay to have a cheat meal once every week?
I'm 8 weeks out from competition

Dairy and fruit are fine, just be sure to factor them into your intake for the day and they are as good as any other source of calories. I would opt for fat-free on all your dairy products, to save calories - your diet will leave you hungry sometimes, and you will want as much food as you can.

Most winning competitors will tell you there should be no cheat meals on a precontest diet. This does not mean you are restricted just to the foods on your list for 8 weeks, but rather if you eat something unhealthy, fit it into your macros for the day by adjusting all your other meals.
