Kettlebell rest periods

Hi guys,
this is my first post here and i was wondering what the ideal rest times between sets and exercises for fat loss would be. Ive got the exercises sorted out but just need some help in this area.
Are Ketlebells any better or worse for fat loss than the normal weight and cardio? Because i not interisted in bulking up or any thing just pure fat Loss

Any input is appreciated.

thanks guys

John

Kettlebells are simply weight. How you use that weight will determine the
outcome of your results. Kettlebells have the handle and allow you to
perform dynamic moves more easily, but the same can be acheived
with dumbells in a pinch. BTW, I love training with KB's

Time efficiency is the difference when performing Weighted Cardio.
You are combining two training elements together, so you don't have
to do weights first, then the cardio - You are doing it all at once, so the
intensity can increase exponentially (work to the power of 2)

A good rule of thumb for rest between bouts of weighted cardio is to
rest for the same amount of time as the interval of exercise (as a
point from which to start).

So if you do swings, cleans and clean and press for 2 minutes, then
rest 2 minutes before your next interval of exercise.

As your cardiovascular system adapts and increases in efficiency, you
can begin to decrease the REST interval time, usually in 15 second
increments, until you reach a rest interval time of 30 seconds.

This is a good base from which to begin work. Begin with a lighter KB
to start, as it gets really heavy as you get more tired, and you don't
want to injure yourself with improper form.

Good luck!

Smile Kettlebells for Fat Loss...

Check out Dragondoor.com forum posts concerning Kettlebells, rest periods, etc. Recommended rest periods between sets is no more than a minute. And you cannot begin to get the same type of work-out with dumb-bells as you can kb's. Irontamer.com is one of the best trainers in the U.S., and he also has tons of good info on his website. I have trained with Dave, and he is top knotch. Lastly, the best thing you can do is find a certified RKC trainer to help you. I see more guys at the gym doing kb's the wrong way than the right...probably why most people think db's and kb's are about the same.

Good luck!
