Testosterone replacement therapy vs. Testosterone boosting and the NGA
I am nearly 43 years old and on the advice of my trainer I recently got a physical.
Well my doctor has informed me that my testosterone is not just low but abnormaly low even for a guy my age. A level of 227 and my free testosterone is 46.5.
To make matters worse I was told by the local NGA promoter that even if taken for medical treatment I would still banned from NGA competition for 7 years.
I do not think this is fair. How is it natural to have to compete with hormone levels that low? I'm not boost my testosterone to unaturaly high and unfair levels, just within the range of someone my age. Why won't a doctors report suffice? I think that it would be fair if I provided a report showing my levels were within normal range. And if there are other guys with this problem they should be getting therapy too. This needs to approached on a case by case basis by the NGA, not just painted over with a broad brush!
Its ok if a woman needs estrogen replacement, but because a man needs testosterone to be healthy and 20 somethings abuse it for growth advantages its not ok fo a man to get the therapy he needs and compete naturaly.
If a woman who should be getting estrogen replacement cheating if she refuses it? Is a diabetic cheating by getting insulin shots?
I am very proud of what I have acheived naturally and I don't want to be called a cheat just to maintain my health and stabilioty.
