Good find.
In past interviews it seemed as if Phil was driven to do well however he always had the respectful mindset to acknowledge great uprising competition such as Samuel and Wolf.
I am not saying he doesn't have the same head on his shoulders, but at 1:42 ts really seemed like he was done being nice guy and is ready to take the title.

how can you tell he still ain't like that? You can tell the vid was cut to make it short and sweet. Phil aknowledges other competitors but has always said in interviews that he trains to win. Anyways, I think you're makin more of it than what it actually is...but at any rate, I definitely wanna see what comes up at this year's Olympia.

I've been training FST-7 for about 7 weeks now and it's easily the best program I ever used. My calves and triceps have come up tremendously. My biceps I haven't seen the same fullness in yet though. I can't comment on my chest/back/shoulders because I dislocated my shoulder one week into the program and I'm just NOW starting to get back into lifting those bodyparts. And my legs respond to anythying I throw at them, but they've really responded to this. I'm not pimping the program, just giving you my honest critique of it.
EDIT: King is also training FST-7 and loving it.

i tried it but found that doing it for each muscle each week was too much, not i just do it for one muscle each week

I use it for all muscle groups and it's going great so far (and I'm not enhanced at the moment). I do arms and calves twice a week (my lagging bodyparts) and they've come up a lot (specifically tris and calves... haven't noticed the same thing with bis as I said earlier). Some people thrive off of high volume (me) and for some people doing it for every bodypart is too much.

You can only bring up one bodypart up at a time efficently. Even with "sauce" you have to phase train.

You keep your friends close.....and your enemies closer...lol.
One thing i would love to see is Phil Heath in a charity basketball game.Imagine how he could just muscle in for the uncontested layup.draw contact like Jordan...people would be grabbing his delts thinking it was the basketball.

From another forum:
It stands for Fascial Stretch Training and the seven refers to 7 sets performed as the final exercise of a target bodypart.Basically you train regularly, with seven sets to finish muscle, with minimal rest between to get the best pump possible. The example in article in April issue of MD is for bi's
Alternate db curls-3-4 x 8-12
machine preacher curls-3 x 8-12
Ez bar curls-7 x 8-12(30-45 seconds between sets while sipping water-more on this next month)Thats what it says not from me
He also says smaller muscles like calves and arms can and should be trained twice a week, while bigger muscles should be once a week,His example of a split is
1-bi's,tri's,and calves
2-legs
3-off
4-chest and tri's
5-back and calves
6-shoulders and bi's
7-off
Other than that some key info is to not use big compound lifts as your "seven set,"they require balance and other muscles to come into play which takes focus off target muscle. So machines and cables are a good idea and free wights like bb curls and skull crushers are as well. Also,i think this is obvious, but you never know.Do your "seven set" at the end,to finish off a muscle.Like I said earlier, with minimal rest between. He says to think of it as filling up a baloon with a small leak,as your muscles slowly lose blood once pumped. The point is to get the best pump possible.
The goal is to bring as much vitamins, minerals, amino acids, oxygen etc into the muscle, and also stretch the fascia tissue which will help encourage muscle growth as fascia tissue will limit muscle growth.
This is no new idea or anything, but i'm happy with this routine,it'll be a nice change. The only problem i'm having is waiting to start.I will be starting a 3 week m-drol cycle april2,and this will be a nice change to compliment the m-drol.

Its impressive that a lot of people are using fst-7 nowadays. Other than Jay Cutler and Phil Heath I also know that King Kamali and Mark Alvisi is using it too. I bet some other people also experienced this. Myself had some good experiences with it too. The pump is really amaziing and I can say that I added some quality muscle to my lacking triceps. Its hopefully gonna make some improvements to Jays physique but dont expect any magic in 9 monts(he started in late december) with those atrophies and bigger than ever waist.

I'm interested to know how well it works for a natural.
I'm about to wrap up and end a cycle and it will be awhile before I start another one. Thus leaving my natural for a few months and possibly cutting for a contest.
However laws of physiques pretty much state, I won't be gaining jack diddly while prepping for a contest, but a few weeks as a natural still "gaining" would be useful.

I just tried it for legs. all i can say it im not sure ill be able to do cardio tomorrow it was that intense. I did the following had a one insane pump/burn
Sunday - Legs
Quad:
(light weight warmup) Leg extensions 2 x 15
Squat 4 x 8-12
Leg press 3-12
Leg extensions 7 x 8-15 (make sure only have 30-45 seconds between sets and flex the muscle - also chug water between them or youll cramp up. I did this for all of the 7's. also dont be afraid to lower the weight a few times)
Hamstrings:
Lying leg curls 3 x 10-15
Single leg curl 3 x 10-15
Seated leg curls 7 x 10-15
Calves:
Standing calf raise 4 x 10-12
Seated calf raise 4 x 15-20
calf sled raise 7 x 10-15

I'll be giving this a try tomorrow. I'm assuming it's safe to hit the "7"s for all 3 parts of the leg? I guess if I read above and not just scanned threw the posts and articles on the actual subject, I wasn't sure if it was fine to do it on more than one lagging part at a time.(calves n hams need to brought up) Although I figured in my case, those muscles kinda tie into each other.

definitely try hitting all 3 parts with the 7's. I'm cutting right now i dont think ill be able to bring up a lagging part so im just gonna be doing 7's with all my workouts to add shape to the muscle/muscle connection - what i mean by that is really feeling the contractions and flexing between sets. get the water in your mouth first then start flexing. youll be dead after the 7's trust me. Ill be doing back(width) and biceps tomorrow ill update the thread on what routine i used and how my legs are feeling tomorrow. I may start a log after this week if i like the program

Well there I go... High volume definitely takes it out of me, and Im sure I will be dropping the weights a little lower to finish the 7s.

nothing new under the sun.....those seven sets at the end, very similar to something that Vince Gironda was pushing way back when...and in his case, the rest periods were no more than 3 deep breaths between the sets.....
FST-7 contains many sound elements of intense training, for sure, just, as most things, a hodge-podge of previous elements thrown together....
