Horse meat.
You probably don't have this in the states but in Canada we do (poor horsie though) Very very lean, no carbs and high in protein per 100g serving and had about not even 5g of fat per 100g either.

Horse, buffalo, vison, deer, ostrich (super lean red meat), if you can find them, go for it...best thing of all they are free range and usually organic. Not really even trying.
If you happen to be in Europe, try to find some Belgian Blue beef, red meat leaner than chicken or turkey. I'm just curious about it.

some of these meats sound...ummm...interesting. But I don't like ground beef anyway...I think it tastes weird. So yea I stick to fish and chicken.

ive had bison and its pretty good but never had ostrich..i really want to try this now.
unfortunately i shop at amilitary grocery store and they dont have a huge variety..ill have to look around for ostrich.
hmm some stores carry ostrich eggs..i wonder the difference nutritionally in an ostrich egg compared to chicken. something ill have to look up.

I am wondering a bit about this too. I think it's just because pineapple is a little sugary. I count it as carbs and just go with it. I <3 pineapple.

Ostrich is very lean and can be dry-you have to cook with or add healthy fats.

how do you ladies feel about lo-carb bread? Do any of you eat that?
I'm trying to cut my macros down to 1800-1900 calories (for 2 or 3 days with a bump for one day), of 40 c, 40 p, 20 f. but I have to pack my meals and sandwiches are easy!
My goal is fat loss, if anyone has recommendations on macros for that (i know everyone's different, but I could use some help!).

Instead of having the bread, I love to make lettuce wraps (my trainer turned me on to these):
On a leaf of Romaine lettuce, I spread hummus, some sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, sprouts, roasted bell pepper (any color), and any other veggies I have on hand...you could even add some lean meat for protein if you want...
I make 3 or 4 and pack those as my lunch; it's much more filling than you'd think; esp when I have a piece of fruit with it, i.e., a plum or other high-fiber (small) fruit.

I think the purpose of this list is to be a guide. It is not a FINAL list that can't be added too. Of course many of the foods that most of you want to add are "clean". Clean in reference to food usually means whole or close to the way a food naturally comes from the earth. Also it means the food free of a lot of additives and fluffm and is minimally processed. A list of every single clean food would be impossible to compose.

Hi,
For slow carbs I didn't see quinoa on this list and that is a good whole grain. Also brown sugar (at least dark brown) would make a wonderful sweetener as it has 4 grams carbs for serving and is 15 cals. per 1tsp serving while honey has 30 calories and 8.5 grams carbs per 1tsp. serving.

I eat a banana every day after a workout, they are a high sugar - quick digesting carb that is useful at this particular time to nurish your muscles quickly so they dont go into an anabolic/catabolic state (i cant remember which is which lol)
... but i too love my bananas so its a treat after my work out too hehe xxx
