My goal is to increase [mussel size] in which case that means doing 3sets of 10-12reps right? Like Bodybuilders yes? I want to look like a bodybuilder not a power-lifter. The easiest example i can make of this is Arnold's build. because everyone knows him. I just want to make sure im doing the right amount of reps/sets to get the bodybuilder look. I hear from other people i should lift the most weight im able to control for 3sets of 10-12reps. Just making sure im on the right track.

My son is 12 and very thin, he is very athletic and would like to start adding weight and muscle. Is he too young? How old were you when you started weight training?

12 is a bit young... 14 or 15 would be a MORE suitable age in my own opinion
Get him eating right and later get him started doing a few basic exercises such as bench press, squat and a deadift so he could get accustomed to the basic compund exercises

I do a basic elliptical machine for 20min PWO. Nothing crazy... just something to say I got it in
PWO shake is fine

The most important thing is to take your nutrition and training as serious as possible
Me and my brother, AJ, have posted our routines in the past and we highly reccomend doing something of that sort

I started at 11 and 12 mostly doing push ups and and crunches and pull ups etc.. Then about 5 months before I hit 13 I was training in the gym but I was also learning alot about nutrition and supplementation so I was making sure to cover all basis .. He needs to get a solid diet plan down and slowly ease into the weight's so in a few years he can be full blast !!

Hey guys. This summer I am going to be working at cedar point and I was hoping to be able to keep my lifting program up. I dont think I will have access to a gym so I basically have to bring my own stuff (which I dont have any of). Without going overboard and spending maybe $100 max (maybe a lil more would be okay but dont want to spend too much) what should I bring with for equipment and what exercises would you recommend (which would all have to be BW pretty much).
Right now I am thinking of bringing a backback to stuff weights in, buying a pull up bar, buying 10pounds of whey protein, and bringing some bags of sand or something to stuff inside of my backpack. (was thinking of doing pull ups, pushups, standing leg lifts and crunches) Do you think you know anywhere I can do dips? Bc on a chair I think it would be too ridiculously easy bc I do Bw+90 as it is.
Got any other suggestions. Thanks!!!

they will more than likely tell you that Food>Whey
so spend that money on a pair of adjustable DBs or a BB set if at all possible.
Look in some pawn shops/yard sales and online for the cheapest deals.

Hey, right now im on a cut. I am eating about 1500cals a day, mostly fruits/veggies/rice/oats/ and some VERY lean meat such as chicken breast/ fish. Ive lost total of 17lbs in 3weeks and I still have all of my strength and im even gaining a little bit. I went from 215 to 198. I am thinking about going down to 180lbs and hopefully some abs. I am currently on rippetoes because I just want to keep all of my strength. I do 2-3 times a week bike cardio. 20mins, 1min sitting and riding, 1min standing and riding the bike and then repeat for 20min. For my bulk I will try to get to 200lbs at ~10-12%. I will start bulking in August, but do a slow controlled (watch the fats and all) bulk until prob around march 2010.
I am still looking to find what workouts to do while on the bulk, I was thinking of starting some kind of a hypertrophy workout for a few months. I already have done GVT and I had crazy gains. What do you think on GVT or any programs like it.
My goal and dream is to eventually compete maybe in 2 years from now go on a stage, oiled up, wearing only underwear in front of men . Do you think that would be possible? And anything that you see wrong in my plan please comment on it or just PM me. Thank you

Just my little input:
Make sure your protein is sufficiant to support your muscle function, as with all of your meals. If your dropping to much weight and losing muscle you know thats why. Also dont go by the scale, go by the mirror (as aj taught me). Numbers can and will manipulate your mind and set you off track.
As for your plan it sounds realistic but time tells many tales. If you check my bodyspace you will see the amazing transformation I underwent (Progress Pics). I went from being real fat, thinking I was strong and all to what I am now. I had no plans of bodybuilding, no plans or anything like that untill I set that goal in my mind and now I look the way I do. You should defintaly look into a nutritionist/trainer such as AJ. Ive been using AJ since October 08 and I made progress faster then ever. Right now he has me packing on muscle and its coming fast. So..
If you want to make that plan come true, put your mind to it and look into hiring someone. It is 110% worth it, especially if they know what they are doing like AJ. Any questions feel free to contact me and check out the pics. GOOD LUCK!

I was thinking about hiring someone. This summer after my cut is over i will sign up for a gym. Maybe Gold's Gym or Worlds Gym, somewhere where there are trainers and such and maybe I will find a good trainer and hire him. How much does it cost anyway? And Im from NJ so if anybody knows a good trainer around Bergen County or Pasaic, Im willing to go to their gym or whatever and hire them to help out. Also, when i sign up for a gym is there something like a coach you could hire to help out with workouts to like push me harder and all?

He just does your nutrition? What about workouts?
And do you think I could find a coach or something like that in a gym?

Absolutely , I take zinc and magnesium and melatonin before bed which helps really put me in a deep sleep ... I also think it's important to turn off the computer and music at least 1hr before bed and turn off all the lights and let your body and mind start to relax more to prepare for a good nights rest ..

You need a day off in between those bro , I'd put it in after leg day and let the CNS recover ...
