WTF. The Herps?

My mouth breaks out into cold sores every month. Kind of like fever blisters. And I just found out 2 people that I know have herpes and in the past we shared cigs and drinks. Possible herpes or possible bad mouth hygiene?

Very serious. The sores are white with a red ring around it. Looks like canker sores but maybe herpes in a way I cant detect.

Go see your PCP when you have an outbreak.

if oral, than yea, that makes sense, **** is super easy to contract just by sharing drinks or the like

100% sounds like herpes

cold sores=herpes, it's pretty easy to tell

They both have oral and genetial herpes. and they don't even have the common courtesy to say "It's not a good idea to hit this beer or hit the cigg because I am blessed with Herpes".

Canker sores and herpes look strikingly simular though.

Don't freak out too much...

There's two kinds of herpes:
Herpes simplex- cold sores, pretty benign and stays on the mouth. Only need treatment with that chapstick looking thing called Abreva (it's pretty common)

Herpes complex- that's the real deal, with the grapefruit like sores on your junk and you'll be on meds for life to prevent an outbreak or flare up. (this is fairly common too. stats say 1/4 people have this)

could be - are they inside the mouth or outside (cankers are typically inside)

go to the doctor and tell him/her about the breakouts...if you have them monthly I think they will give you meds to prevent breakouts

lysine tablets help alot for colds sores. and Abreva is the ****. i got it from my mom when i was a little kid (from a kiss goodnight bull****) and i never get them anymore unless i get really sick because of that stuff

Canker sores must not be confused with Herpes (commonly known as fever blisters or cold sores). Oral Herpes most commonly occurs outside the mouth on and around the lips and facial area. When Herpes occurs within the mouth, it will only occur on the non-movable tissue which are the gums adjacent to teeth (gingiva) and on the hard palate (roof of the mouth) Herpes ulcers are smaller than canker sores and form blisters before ulcerating. Canker sore outbreaks are common and may continue for years. Canker sores are not contagious and no need to worry about spreading them to others.
