Yeah, the bike is smooth and solid as hell man. I went from a hardtail rockhopper to this beauty, haha. It's almost like I'm cheating sometimes...

They sell Cannondale and Specialized. My last two bikes were Cannondale and Trek respectively, so I like them both.

Krane what type of bike are you looking for? And how are your tomatoes?

LOL, I haven't gotten them yet. I only ordered them 2 weeks ago from Burpee and I think some of them are on back order. But according to the email invoice they sent me, they won't be a part of this the first shipment which should arrive early next week. I only have a small space, but I got carried away and ordered way more plants/seeds than I should have. Maybe I should ask my neighbors if they'll lend me some of their space?

Great hearing from you bro. I hope to be back in the saddle soon too (it's been a while). Unfortunatley, finding a bike to fit me takes time...and luck!

I'm desperate to get back on my bike, but the weather here in Denver is NOT cooperating. I took one ride in mid-march when it was 70 degrees but got home and found a nice puddle of oil underneath my shock the next day. Two weeks later, I have the shock back, but there no reason to put it back on my bike until it quits freakin' snowing

hay guise.
So my cheapy performance bike computer died this weekend during a 50+ mile ride... the display is all fked up...
Can anyone recommend a nice wireless w/e cadence for < $50?
As much as I'd like one of the Garmin's with GPS i can do with out.
I used to be a huge fan of Avocet 45s but haven't owned one in years.

Agreed. You should think under $100. You have to consider the quality as these things take a lot of abuse (at least mine does). Incidentally, do you have any brand in mind? Some screens are just impossible to read; and I need to be able to see it quickly day and night.

IF i said with cadence, i meant without..... i dont need that. Just a regular wireless computer.... anyone run the Cateye Strada??
I went with carbon because i was spoiled in HS, i was a competitive CatII cyclist and rode a Treck 5500 OCLV.... loved that bike but it started to get soft and I needed a new ride. I sold it a couple years ago and was without a road bike. It was painfull... EVERY cyclist i saw made me want to get back into it. I love riding and carbon fits my style best, I like longer rides and an aluminum frame while still nice is a little rougher ride

I have a wireless Cateye Micro, I have always had great luck with cateyes...

I put a new basebar on that should be a little more comfortable than the ****ty one that came on the bike (~1500 miles on the bike)

Anything to make life easier
I LOVE the old Madone's with the Discovery Team livery. They might be 2 or 3 years old now but if it was good enough for Lance, i'm sure i wont be out-growing it any time soon.

Wow, I just got my first ride of the spring, little over 20 miles, but I hit 32 mph,(downhill), what a rush, I am really stoked for riding this summer. I must say the spin class thru winter helped my legs a great deal. I'm ready bring it on

I'm not sure what you mean, but I feel just the opposite. The use of carbon material allow for the formation of a limitless styles; and the creation of the most gorgeous bikes money can buy. And speaking of money, if you want a carbon fiber bike, you've got to have a lot of it!

Hmm, $25? You're not likely to get anything to sturdy for that price...unless it was reduced 70%.
In my case, I ride my bike through all condition (ever ridden through a thunderstorm?) so I need one that will stand up to whatever I can through at it.

What i mean is, the new Madones are hideous....****ing ugly.....they are the typical "fred" bike of choice.
For the same money i would rather have a cervelo S3, or maybe a felt AR...

Wrong....who wouldve guessed???
You can pick up a cateye astrale for around 40bucks online. Its durable, measures speed, cadence, avg. speed, mileage, and trip.
The only instance that would call for a high priced computer would be if you had an SRM crank or a another form of measuring watts and HR.

I think i get about 10 major rain storms /yr... if that... lol.
Mainly i want something that will hold up to heat. I DO ride in 110+ degree weather.
Im looking into the Cateyes and will probably get one of those. What is everyone else running?
It seems like the majority integrate a HRM, I;ve already got a polar watch/chestband HRM. so thats not necessary either.

Oh, I didn't even get into the heat and humidity. Although the black to in south Florida may not get much past 100 degrees, it's the added humidity that really sticks it. Sometimes it feels like you're riding through molasses.

Exactly. The Cervelo is cheaper (over 1000), has a better frame, better wheels, and equal components.
Sounds like a no brainer to me. Thank you for proving my point.

This is true. While the AR frame is AWESOME, it doesnt come with Zipps like the cervelo, which probably makes up the price difference.

OK maybe you guys can help me......Have a second?
OK quick background: 43, former soccer player, college scholarship some pro experience (not much, I sucked). After that did some MTb racing (even in the first few 24 hours of Canaan races), the occasional tri and 3 or 4 one day Adventure Races. Then came children....I could only play 2 days /week so I stuck with my first love, picking up and throwing heavy stuff. Now the kids are getting older and I am having more time. I'm lifting/doing events consistently 3 days and a 4th is possible. I was thinking of dropping back to lifting/picking up rocks twice a week and using the other 2 days to play in the woods. My questions are can I get any benifit from just doing it 2 times a week. I have no intentions of once again being lost in WV at 3 AM but would like to be able to jog without horking up a lung and maybe even getting into some shape other than round. Still have most of my old stuff from around 1999 and it is all functional. Mtb (old Jamis), Road Bike (Somec w/old school DuraAce+ Spinergy wheels) Or should I just stick with lifting and add a 4th day? Thoughts? Ideas? Insults?
