OP - if you wanted to cut back, just train 2x per week instead of 3, and at least do some walking/stretching on your off days. If you don't like full body, you could train half on Monday and half on Friday. That's about as minimalist as you're going to get.
What your proposing is better than nothing, but it's still just nonsense. Sorry, but that's my opinion.
Full body can stimulate the nervous system in a way that can help you make strength gains. On the other hand, a split routine makes it easier to do more work for the individual muscles. But your idea doesn't really cover either of those.

Well, since my main goal is to lose body fat, i am more heavily focused on cardio at the moment.
I do around 20-30 mins of high intensity cardio every morning 6 days per week.
My idea was after that, i am pretty warmed up and burning so throw in 5 minutes of one good weight exercise before i cool off for the day. Then go about my business and forget about my body while focussing on other stuff.
That way i could have a quick morning routine 6 days per week without going overboard.
Monday
HIT cardio - 3x8 squats to failure
Tuesday
HIT cardio - 3x8 deadlifts to failure
Wednesday
HIT cardio - 3x8 bench press to failure
Thursaday
HIT cardio - 3x8 bent over rows to failure
Friday
HIT cardio - 3x8 standing military press to failure
Saturday
HIT cardio - 3x8 barbell curls to failure
Sunday
snorkeling, sailing, fishing, rollerblading, tennis, sandboarding, other fun stuff
As for diet, 5 meals per day with quality protein, fresh fruit and veg and typical health food.

So are you doing 3 sets to failure or 8 sets to failure? I'm sorry i don't know much yet, but i get the feeling you don't know what you're talking about either. :/

so bruce, you are actually doing 35 minutes a day of exercise, not 5 minutes as in your original post, is that right? 30 minutes of cardio and 5 minutes of lifting.

I'm sure most agree that 1 week full rest is required for growth and adequate recovery.

You shouldn't train to failure when doing a full body routine..
Look at olympic lifters, they sometimes train squats 6 days a week, but NEVER till failure!

It depens how you train brah;
If you train till failure > more recovery time needed (for CNS)
More volume > more recovery time
More intensity > more recovery time
Training with more frequency= no failure training, less volume and less intensity.
You can still train heavy, just cut back on the volume..

the volume vs intensity debate is old.
Seems like most mix it up. When they plateau with HIT they can switch to volume training or vice versa.
Olympic lifters obviously have different goals to sedentary beginners so it would be stupid to train like an olympian for most average people.

5mins a day won't do anything...
I would just stick with 3 day full body routine. 3-4 exercises a day.
That would take like 30-45mins.
20-30mins of high intensity cardio? No...that's not high intensity at all. It shouldn't be more than 15mins including warmup/cool down. And you shouldn't be doing HIT everyday. You're going to start losing muscle. 2/3x a week is plenty of REAL HIT

Try a full-body workout 2x/week, using cycling, deloading, and re-setting weights.

Lose muscle!? hell! he went on a 25 day fast with nothing but water. look at his bodyspace the guy is crazy.
I'm not trying to rag on you bro, or flame you. I was like that once, just looking for the easy way out, or the minimalist's way out. I had to learn the hard way. I promise you, you're better off sticking with your full body routine.
