Question Is lifting heavy weight related to er.... hemorrhoid?

Hi, I've googled this issue and I've found something.

http://www.steadyhealth.com/hemroids...ts_t63851.html

quoted:
".....................It is extemely commen. I have had them from doing squats. Pushing and grunting will defenitly bring them on for some. Some people never have a problem."

I had hemorrhoid before and now they still exists but only show some mild symptoms.

1) Is lifting heavy weight related to hemorrhoid?
2) Should I control myself not to lift heavy weights?

(I am newbie here, any help is much appreciated, thanks guys)

Yes they can since they are the swelling of the blood vessels.

Thats the first thing I found on a search. Since you strain while heavy lifting it is a possibility. Don't go directly into heavy weights. Work your way up by mastering the form and technique and breathing to lift weights. I recommend lighter weights with higher reps and don't go to failure. Try that for a while and see if that helps. Also check and see if you have a family history of them.

Thanks.

yep I have them at the moment weight lifting.

It sucks because they wont go away. its been 6 months! And they will never go away unless you have surgery. Im using a cream at the moment to reduce the swelling.

Not true. You need to fix your toileting habits and your diet. If you google, I'm sure you can find dietary changes suggested. In terms of toileting, don't go to the toilet unless you have a strong need to, dont strain, dont sit on the toilet after you've finished (although haemorrhoids can create the sensation that you haven't).

This.

Fix your fiber and water intake, taking a crap should be easy and quick. Also, check your breathing habits when you lift. If you're holding your breath and not expelling air/grunting at the proper time during the lift, it can cause hemorrhoids and hernias.
