Decided to try a PH cycle

The current legal products include some things that work, but IMO most of the ones that do anything are methylated which means stress on your liver.

Over time it seems there has been a progression as the best stuff gets banned, we get stuff that's less and less effective and/or more and more toxic. To the point that most of what's legal today is probably just not worth taking.

and if your looking to compete in any sanctioned sporting events (other than IFBB), I would imagine even the legal PH's are banned, even while being legal.

You are not correct though some of the stuff out there right now are real PH's.

Havoc (epistane) - is a real steroid. Its not even a PH. Epistane is actually a methylated version of the controlled substance Epitiostanol (2?,3?-Epithio-5?-androstan-17?-ol), which was created in the 1960's and used as a treatment for breast cancer. Since the only place Epitiostanol is only availabe at this time is in japan, chemists added a methyl group to the compund and the final product was a substance now known as Epistane. Epistane is a sulfur containing steroid which is known to have strong and long lasting anti-estrogenic activity as well as weak androgenic and mytropic activities

Bold - converts to Boldenone "equipose". The conversion rate probably is good awfull.

Superdrol - Toxic garbage. But its as strong as any old world PH. Designer Supplements designed this 'pro-hormone' based on the steroid Masteron, with an additional methyl group attached to the 17th carbon position. It is described as a cross between anavar and masteron, with the virtual inability for aromatisation to estrogen. It is highly anabolic (400-800% more so than methyl-test) and a lot less androgenic (~20% of methyl-test). Superdrol has hence been given the name Methasteron.

Word of warning from personal experience: try Superdrol for 2 weeks and chances are good your liver function tests will be elevated for a good 3-4 months. Meanwhile all of your doctors want to kow why, and you wind up feeling like an idiot. All to gain the muscle that IMO you could have gained from just training hard and eating right for 6 months.

Why all the hate for PH's?

I'm natural by choice but I know PLENTY of guys that get very good results from them.

I'd rather see them discussed on an over 35 board to see what intelligent, mature people have to say about them rather than a bunch of kids that believe every marketing pitch thrown their way.

I would hazard a guess that more people here use then than let on

Thanks. I am actually trying for the fitness model look this summer. It suits my small frame bodytype much better. Although I would really prefer to be a big hoss like yourself. I tried it just does not work for me.

I know this is a little off topic from the original thread, but I just wanted to thank all the bros that have responded to my original question. I definitely received more feedback than I expected and I want to thank each of you for that. The information and advice you have provided has been extremely helpful. I guess that's why I started this thread in the O35 section because I wanted GOOD feedback and not some of the crap you read in the other sections. I still haven't made up my mind on what I'm going to get, but I'm really close. Thanks brosephs!

All PH products are banned.
Some messed up companies even put PH's in their protein and other supps, don't label them, and then competitors get dinged on the drug test.

Bottom line, the good PH's are illegal.
The PH's left work to a lesser degree but are more toxic, and are banned by the World Anti Doping Association (WADA).
Imo, you are far more likely to see negative sides from the current products than good ones.
It just ain't worth it.

Hey J-bo,..1st off,..great physique! secondly,...what are you looking for in the world of bodybuilding? Do you want to compete in Natty shows? if yes then you may want to re-evaluate your choice of using these OTC products. Promoters dont take the use of these lightly. If you are just wanting to get a little ahead of the game then I'm sure you can find something,..be careful tho,..lot of that stuff is just crap. One wise phrase someone once said to me was,...Instead of spending money on these types of supplements,..spend it on a trainer,..I did this. I won my first BB show. Good luck to ya!

I'm glad i troll this forum. I'm 39 and want to bulk up. I was thinking of buying a new product i saw called 1-andro rx by ironmaglabs, but after reading this thread i am rethinking that. If the prohormones are mostly junk, is there any benefit in ANY of the "mass building" products out there? Or should i just eat right, increase protein, etc. I was also looking at things like animal stack to help me bulk up. I know there's no substitute for hard work.

The basics work well. Protein (Whey post workout, Casein before bed), EFAs and a good multivitamin and mineral supp. Creatine if you're a responder (I am and I take it). Some folks go for other things too for example Glutamine (some say yea others nay)- everyone has their preferences.

But nothing beats a good diet of real clean foods, hard work and plenty of quality rest.

i agree, hope i didnt cross a line on my intake into sketchy items, any ways here is what i picked up at gnc for 130 dollars. gotta admit the results kicked in this week and im impressed. i do very well to creatine though. the shaker was great (the shaker was good while it lasted, it broke, the whey went fast, i am going to resort back to my old stuff until i finish everything)

best thing here is its legal, i will research more, the things in ? for me are the CLA and lucine. Good luck with your judgment, not sure at O35 is the best time to do that stuff if you made it this far (my 2 cents).

I just finished a 6week cycle of epistane...had good results...gained 10pds over the cycle, only lost about 3 after the cycle...didnt experience any side effects besides sore joints...good product imo

Many of the prohormones do work. Look up the chemistries on the label and find what it is an analog of. Whether you are making up your own super concoction of aminos and protein or using PH's your adding more to your system than what you "naturally" get through food.
Natural would be selecting the right foods, training,etc. without supplementation.

technically, you only have to be 18 to use them...i know a bunch of people that have used them and had great results...i did my research before using them...and judging from most people opinions, they say it is ok if you are at least 20-21 years old...also, the personal trainer at my school who has a masters, uses them and recommended them to me...to each his own.

The compound you are taking is a real steriod just treat it as such. To be honest I probably would have done the same thing at your age so I am not judging you by any means. With that said looking at your pic not to insult you but you could make gains very easily naturally. Same advice I will give my own son.

Hate to preach but be careful with what you are putting in your body. I did some stupid stuff when I was your age and I'm sure I'll pay the price sooner or later. Some of my old buddies already have paid. Hopefully you had a real PCT in place and did that corectly. Good luck.
