my buddies are trying to get me to play wow with them. i usually like playing fps games like call of duty or counter strike. i don't get it, what makes it soo addicting

I played it for 2 years and just recently quit cold turkey. I totaled about 150-170 days played.

It depends on how much you play. It's like a sandbox game...There is no end in sight. There is always that piece of gear that's better than yours...That faction you need rep for so you can get that pattern...

It's like crack. Beware.

It's worse than cocaine. The game is designed in a way that it makes you play on and on and on and on... Like you can't just sit down and go "oh i'll just play casually for 30 minutes and quit". You'll achieve nothing in the game if you do that.

if you enjoy pushing 1-4 on your number row for 4-12 hours a day getting reputation up for a faction to get 1 stupid item you cant get anywhere else in the game and only to get it outdated in a new patch, go for it

i wasted far to much god damn time on that game. was in one of the best guilds in the US until i quit the game cold turkey

Really, if you can't tear yourself from the computer screen after two hours, it's not the game, it's you. It's a pretty well done MMO (though steadily declining since the expansions IMO), so that's what makes it addicting. Be careful about your friends, if they play a lot, then it might bleed into you.

I use to play wow played for 3 years have 2 80s it has like waves you will be really addicted till about level 40 then you take a break then you play till 60 then you take a break then you play till 70 etc... As for a game its really fun if you play with people if your friends play get them to tell you the basics and you will have a blast.
