Way to motivate the husband
Nice workout Erin. Do yu do ab work first in your workout? I always do abs last. Even after cardio.

My dream of UNC losing in the first round was not realized, which is a mixed blessing as I have them going out to the Elite 8. I would have taken the hit to see the loss, though. hehe.
Last night I did not do my pm cardio. I have been tired all week, and we had the kids, so I decided to just hang with them. We watched the latest batman (Kevin LOVES superheroes). It was a great movie, but I thought for sure Kevin would be up all night with nightmares (he is only 4). He didn't but Mike (who is 8) said he had them last night.
Today I am planning on getting in all my workouts. Sun is back out, so the pm walk will happen. I have bribed Bill with something I will not type to go with me every night, so I am pretty sure he will be motivated even if I am not. I will be hitting the caffeine pretty hard today so that I can stay up for the BIG game - Siena takes on Ohio State in Ohio. I am wearing my green in gold in support, even if I was banned from wearing some of my sweatshirts. Bill told me that the ones I have are too beat up to wear. They are from when I was a student (one I believe is from when I went to basketball camp there in '86 or '87), so of course the are beat up. The kids wanted to wear Siena shirts as well, but they didn't have any! I can't believe that! Will be driving the 15 minutes to campus soon to rectify that.
Let's go Saints!

hehe - I can't believe the bribing worked. You men are so easy.
I typically do abs first. I am on the mats stretching already, so I just stay there and do them. Some days I mix them in as supersets with some of my exercises. Depends on how hard I feel I need to work the body part.

I normally don't use this power unless it's really important. Then again, I rarely have to bribe. He spoils me.

What a day. Got in a great workout and both cardio sessions. Woo-hoo! Was up way too late watching the Siena game. 2 OT's later, they will be playing Louisville tomorrow!!!!! Great freaking game! Though, CBS sucks at coverage. With about 1 minute left in regulation, 1st OT, and the 2nd OT with the score tied, they cut over to the FSU game. WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? The first time I complained a little. The second time I was more vocal. The 3rd time the poor dogs were cowering in the corner. They better not pull that tomorrow!!!!!
Way to go Saints!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
AM CARDIO:
45 minutes on step mill
134 Avg HR
151 Max HR
358 Calories
WORKOUT:
Dips - 10, 8, 7 PR
ss w/decline crunch - 3x12x15
Hammer curl - 12x25, 2x8x30 PR
1 legged deadlift - 3x8x20
ss w/close grip bench - 12x45, 12x55, 10x65 (prob could have gone to 12, but I had no spotter. also prob could have done more weight with a spotter)
Concentration curl - 3x8x25 PR
ss w/v-up on bench - 3x12x10
SLDL - 12x65, 10x95, 8x105 PR (+40)
Straight bar pulldown - 12x40, 2x8x40
21's - 20, 30, 30 (my arms burned for 20 minutes after these)
108 Avg HR
151 Max HR
301 Calories
PM CARDIO:
1 hr walk in neighborhood
93 Avg HR
121 Max HR
203 Calories
Note about the PM walk. I must have gotten spoiled with the 50's we have been having. Just went out for a walk in pants that hit just below the knee, a sweatshirt, a light jacket, and grabbed gloves at the last minute. I froze my ass off. Seriously. I was still freezing an hour and a half later. Luckily it was warmer today.

You are hitting some pretty good weights there Erin!!!!!
I like how you track your average and max heart rate.
Do you have a Polartec HR monitor? I have one and I think it's supposed to do the min/max/average thing, but the only thing I know how to do is get a straight HR with it.
Does yours track the min/average/max for you or do you have to look at it and remember it? When you say max, is there a length of time it's at the max or is that the max you hit at some point in the workout? Thanks!!!

Saturday, March 21
Slept in wicked late today since the game went so late. Went to the HS track and did some track work. Came home, at breakfast, then went back to bed. We went out to meet a mutual friend of Bill and I to a bier garten that opened up this week. They advertised that they were playing bundesliga games. Got there and they had an EPL game going, then an Italian game. Bill was not happy as he was looking forward to the game. The experience there made me realize I am getting old. It was really crowded, loud, and full of people drinking too much. Drove me crazy! But, it was still fun. Bill is working tonight, so I get to screw around on bb.com.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
AM CARDIO:
45 minutes track workout
8 min walk
30 min Fartlek intervals - walk 1/2 lap, jog 1/4 lap, sprint 1/4 lap

Got home too late to go to the gym and it was getting dark. Add to that the tiredness and sore shins, and I figured it was best to just call it a day.

Thanks!!!

Thanks! I pushed myself pretty hard this week and though I am sore as hell, it's pretty satisfying!
I have a Polartec as well. It tracks the average and the max. I believe the max is the max that I reach at some point and isn't tied to the amount of time I am at there. I hope. Some of my cardio sessions show my max at above 200, so I hope I am not there for too long!!!!

That was the major high of the week for me. I hate arm day because I always feel so weak. I just went and told myself I was going to do it no matter what. To be honest, I surprised myself.

the worst for me is doms in the quads that linger into the day I have to do seated calf raises...that pad across your knees with 135 lbs is downright painful

It was pretty painful. Thankfully, it has subsided now.

Ah, luckily I do quads and calves on Monday and hams and calves on Friday, so I don't get that. Though, my quads hurt just thinking about it!

Overall, I am pretty happy with my progress. More pics are being uploaded to bodyspace.
