Marathon bodybuilders?
I've decided to run in a 1/2 marathon this June and would like some advise on how to maintain as much lean muscle as possible without losing my size due to all the running i have been and will be doing. I'm down to 218 from 225lbs and this has just been week 2 of the training. Any advise/help is appreciated. (don't say I shouldn't do it)

hell yeah you should do it.
That's where I am right now.
The biggest factor is getting enough calories. We're about the same weight too, so I can figure about the same calories per run. what's your running schedule like?
I do my first half marathon April 5. I'm running about 40-50 miles a week right now. Most days I get about 4000-5000calories. A typical run burns about 2k calories and added to my bmr and weight training, Bam! About 5k easy.
I try to keep the calories all natural at the very least. Obviously more carbs for days I run, but also plenty of protein. I use Cytomax for my runs, and try to do the math on how much to use depending upon the run. It definitely helps.
SUBBED!

Fit-day or any other comp. program where you can easily log what you eat and log your day's activity so you can breakdown, how many cals in vs out.
Here's an ex. pic.
bar graphs on bottom, haven't inputted cals in yet, but right side shows ~how much I'll need to eat to break even.
I use to use cytomax also, before use calf/ab cramps found out it was due to electrolyte depletion (usually went to gym after work and cramped there) so heard about cyto from some friends and it's definately better than gatorade, cyto+banana and I was gtg.

Curious as to how you're making out with this...I'm in my first of 18 weeks ramping up for an early fall marathon, and midway through a 12 week push/pull/legs lifting phase (using Frankie NY routine)
Really don't want to lose my gains, and hope to make some more, but all the conventional wisdom I've found seems to say it's inevitable. My diet is pretty tight at the moment, but I know as the weekly mileage increases, the cravings are going to get ridiculous. Eating enough/eating healthy won't be an issue. But the muscle depletion is what I'm worried about.
I keep my lifting completely seperate from my running either on seperate days or different ends of the same day, which kills me timewise, but my body thanks me.
How are you doing? Any advice?

I have 6 weeks to my first marathon, I have been lifting and running since Easter and have actually put on 4kg as my appetite has gone through the roof. Check my journal.
