Pre-workout supplement question
Ok, this may be a dumb question, but when it comes to pre-workout supplements, should I have to take it for several days before I notice any benefit from it? Here's some background....
At different times I've taken Blackpowder, NO-Xplode, and PMD Platinum Pump Fuel, and have some NaNO Vapor on order. What I'm looking for is that insanely pumped feeling when I hit the gym. I felt it with Blackpowder, not so much with NO-Xplode, and not at all with PMD Platinum.
I purchased PMD Platinum at GNC based on a recommendation from the person working there. After not feeling any difference in the gym after taking it two different days, 30 minutes prior to going to the gym, I took it back to GNC for a refund. The person working at GNC suggested that I should keep using it for a week or so to really notice it. I really didn't believe that because I noticed a difference the very first time I used Blackpowder.
My question to anyone who'd like to throw some thoughts my way is, do you think that the GNC person was correct? Should a person have to take a pre-workout supp for several days (several = more than 5) before noticing if its working?

should notice it the fist time you take it within 30 minutes or so

the tolerance is really hard too build and the energy is clean.
you should always feel it no matter what otherwise stop taking it and get something else maybe. you can get geranium+caffeine pills for really cheap

To get the most out of a preworkout, take it on a fairly empty stomach, 45 minutes before your workout. Always do a light warm up set before doing your working sets.

you should feel a preworkout 30-45 minutes after taking it. Also sounds like you have developed quite a tolerance for stimulants.
My advice: return the product, take a week or 2 off of stimulants. Purchase a quality, effective preworkout and begin seeing some results!

I agree. Take some time off, then start back up slowly. That is why our preWO energy product Core ZAP is meant to be cycled throughout the week on either workout days only or with at least 2 days off per week so that your body doesn't become desensitized to the stims.

Thanks for the thoughts and comments. Actually, those are the three that I've tried over the course of the past year, and not continuously. I was completely off supps from mid Jan through mid Feb, then did NO-Xplode for about three weeks. I'll be trying NaNO Vapor stating Monday...
