Electrical Linesmen/Utility Workers Dicussion Thread
Due to recent unemployment and difficulty of finding work i've decided to go back to school.
A friend of mine referred me to a course that PG&E offers at select colleges that will assist in training and hiring into the trade.
I just signed up for the 'I am interested, call me' form on their website and hoping I can get going soon enough.
I have 3.5 years experience in the electrical field so that should give me a slight advantage over someone with 0 experience signing up.
Is there anyone in the linesmen/utility trade here on the misc?
If so, what can you tell me about it? schooling/training and such and how you like it.... hours, benefits, $$$$

My buddy works for Ameren here in St. Louis. He's still in his apprenticeship and already pulled in 80k last year. Keep in mind he is 20 years old. He gets a **** ton of overtime.
