Any ideas for postpartum belly workout plan?
I had my son 5 months ago and want to get abs. It is time.... Any ideas? I kind of think I need to work out my stomach every day since I used to and it looked nice, but want to know what experts think. And I never have achieved a six pack yet in my life. Again it is time... Ooh and we just went grocery shopping yesterday and stocked up on some healthy clean foods! I didn't even buy sweets! I am so proud! haha

Congrats on a new little boy! I have a son that turns 1 at the end of the month. So much fun. Way to go on staying away from the sweets in the grocery store. definately the first step to getting those abs back. Basic exercises will work great....Crunches, leg lifts, etc. Also make sure you are working your entire core including your lower back. If you are going for a six pack add some weight. that will bring out more definition rather than just flat. My wife took a Pilates class at the gym after she had our son and it did wonders. Other than that just watch your diet. that is going to be the place that makes the biggest difference. keep the calories down and do cardio. Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.

i would stick to coumpound lifts if its weight ur looking to lose it speeds up ur metabolism, and they all require u to use ur core and it will tighten it. And a wise man told me , just do 3sets of abs 3 days a week and you will b fine. the coupounds really hit ur core and just have a clean diet. no need for 1000 sit ups

i have never seen a mother with decent abs
unless she's had a tummy tuck.
sorry, but that's that.
sure, compounds are necessary
and weighted situps are a nice supplement
but if you plan on showing your abs again,
better start saving now.
if youre against this idea,
i have seen mothers who look okay with tight shirts and lifting/dieting
but dont think you'll be able to show skin..

Not true, I know several moms who look amazing in a bikini. My wife's six pack is starting to show through and her skin is tightening up. The key is to get small quick. the longer the skin is stretched the less it will shrink back.

You haven't been to Japan, have you
Mothers here look like teenage fashion models... for good or bad.
Anyway, you cannot "spot treat" your abdomen. If you have extra fat or whatnot there, there is no exercise to target it. Crunches/sit-ups will *NOT* target fat on your abdomen. In fact, they just work that muscle, which, if not accompanied with cardio, will push the fat out a little with the muscle growing underneath.
Cardio will eliminate fat from your body how and where it chooses to. You can only work harder to speed the process up.

that's not true. With my first son I looked hot in my bikini. Your stomach skin shrinks back after a while. I don't know where you got that idea from. There are many women on this site o prove it! lol Thanks for all of the advice everyone else! haha

Hmmmmmmmmm I have three kids, I'd like to think I can show skin.....Anyways, lots of cardio, A GOOD DIET (low sodium) and Targer lower abs, the top abs come in easy. Lower are harder to get. I'm struggling there

Well you can go to my profile and see my progress pics. I don't look perfect right now, but you can see that I don't have loose skin at the bottom that would need to be tummy tucked. A doctor would turn me away if I walked in and asked for one. I don't understand why you keep saying what you do? Are you referring to stretch marks? You don't get a tuck for those you'd get laser removal and they tend to fade on their own unless they are really bad.
