A slight bit. I posted my other responses. I do agree harsh treatment should be in order for that after thinking it over.
I do know of Staff NCO's who have been dropped down as well as NCO's, some gain it back though.

Yeah...I posted before I read your other posts. There are some things that NCO's can make mistakes on but as for a DWI/DUI...there is no excuse. Its pretty simple...dont drink and drive.

I don't believe that's harsh at all.
My no longer buddy is rotting in prison right now for killing a roadside worker while drinking and driving. Kid was something like 19 and was working late night construction.
Because of this NCO a civilian who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time was killed, something that was completely avoidable.
This wasn't his first offense DUI either. Therefore the punishment prior was not harsh enough.
Is ASAP mandatory for DUI offenders?

That right there is why I advocate the harshest possible punishments every time for drunk driving.
If you go out and get yourself killed that's unfortunate, but it was your choice. But you are puting the lives of innocent people in danger, and that I absolutely will not tolerate.

Any lady...especially a "former" Marine can jump into this thread. Thank you for your service. Especially during that time, post Viet Nam, big drawdown, low pay, etc. My father served during the same time frame, I remember it well. When Reagan was elected and the pay jumped it was a very happy time in our household.
Just so you know, those of us that jump, and do so with combat equipment, we still have trouble sometimes getting onboard the aircraft. My heaviest ruck to date was in the early 90's...119 lbs. I spent 10 days in a hidesite, with only what I could carry in. It was not a fun trip. lol.
Welcome to the thread Ladyblue.

What's going on brother! I have had a lot of crap going on. I got medevac'd out of Jalalabad at the end of Jan this year. I am now at Ft Lewis for treatment until I am fit for duty. It was discovered that I had a blood clot in my leg and with the meds they put me on, one can not be in a position where they may bleed...so here I sit in a freekin office job for a while!
Hell....I forgot they had a military thread going here.

The medevac was from the discovery of the bloodclot I hope and not because someone decided you needed another orafice....J-Bad can be an unhappy place sometimes.
Well suck up the office job for now, God knows, I've been doing the same...it's driving me insane. Sadly though I'm at the point in my career where I don't have much more to look forward to. I'm making the big trek to Taco Tech in the summer. Jump in here and the Army thread every so often. It'll be nice to see another familar face with some years under the rucksack.

Yeah...it was because of the clot. I was pissed! I was hit by 2 IEDs on my last tour there and stayed in country with my unit. Now this time I have a freeking blood clot and I am gone! Tough pill to swallow! But yeah...I hate this desk job as much as I enjoy it. I just hate not being in the position of leading troops for the first time in over 20 years.

Now I will have to fess up that I am absolutly biased on this one..
I was an EMT for 12 years including critical care paramedic..I worked both in a paid service in the city and as a volly for my county ALS fly car, and several volly groups including my home squad I ended up LT then Capt for for couple of years..
If you get tanked, and then get behind the wheel... and someone dies?? Thats murder in my book//I got absolutly no sympathy whatsoever..Do not pass go ..go straight to jail and stay there for a LONNNNGG time..I ahve picked up kids killed by drunks , little old folks killed by drunks..everyone you could imagine and I really hate doing that

An unfortunate coincidence from this week:
E5 DUI
Captain's Mast (NJP), reduction to E4
He had been the #1 ranked E5 in his department
He is now over High Year Tenure as an E4
Thus, headed to civilian life as soon as the paperwork settles

much as I love the Brits and the SAS is very good...they dont rank our SEALS

Would like to see Aussie SAS vs English SAS vs US SF vs US Seal in an all out competition.

I agree! I think the majority of DUI's get off way to easily.
I'm all for have a few good drinks, but I've always got a sober driver lined up if I'm not at home.

It obviously depends on what the "competition" is, since their warfare skills are focused on different areas. . .
