Excessive muscle twitching...
I wasn't sure where to post this; but i'm 17 years old so I thought I'd post it here.
Alright, so i'm a sprinter, and i was doing some power workouts on the track last night. i was mostly working on explosive starting and my drive phase...
its the first time i really worked that area since last season..
so i got home and my right tricep has just been twitching. like involuntarily twitching like crazy.
sometimes a random muscle (generally in my thigh) will randomly just twitch; i'm used to that. but generally it will just twitch once and stop.
but my tricep is going nuts. it doesn't hurt or anything, it isn't sore or anything, there isn't anything wrong with it; its just twitching!!! its been twitching since last night and hasn't really let up. it twitches an average of like 15 times per minute...
anyone know what i mean or know why it is doing that or if thats bad or whats goin on with that?

dont worry
my shoulders been doing it like mad and a lot more times than 15 per minute its driving me mad lol
my eyelid used to do it when i had stayed up all night on video games and stuff before i trained.
i find stretching out the muscle lightly what is annoying me works good enough.

Eat some bananas or mustard. Anything high in potassium should help.

This used to happen to me when I first started pushing myself and lifting heavier weights. I would be sitting there twitching but couldnt even feel it. Usually only happened after heavy workouts, never during, sometimes other times during the day.
I'm under the impression that it is because of the shock to your nervous system, and it just can't handle it.

During intense physical exercise (such as in the swim, track, or lifting season), your body is constantly attempting to repair your muscles. In the process of repairing them, it also needs to recalibrate the system. As such, it sends electrical impulses to those muscles, resulting in the twitch. If you have someone watching you (or sleeping with you), it looks like you are spazzing out, but its perfectly normal.
If it becomes a serious annoyance, you should see a doctor.

Water, calcium, potassium... they all might help.

My arms and chest tend to do it after my chest workouts, I also tend to get a few twitches after my exercise of shrugs to.
Not sure what it is, but its not serious. I saw my doctor about it. He just advised me to get some rest and it will go away.
It's not harmful, I think it has something to do with your muscle fibres contracting and relaxing in an unorderly manner during the repair phase. However I am probably wrong. Just my thoughts.
