I imagine most gyms are taking a beating from the economy. Folks cut back on what they consider luxury stuff. What I would think though is that people that have trained consitently over the years will keep their memberships up to date. So more hardcore gyms should do better in theory.
A lot of fitness gyms like 24 hour etc count on people signing up, paying and not using the gym regularly.
You live down in the Springs? I used to traint at World Gym down there and there used to be a Golds as well up North.

I think gyms are actually doing pretty well still with the new year's resolution people they get in every year. It sucks for people who actually want to work out during January since the gym is flooded with clueless people sitting on equipment and not doing anything but, by February, a lot of those guys have been weeded out. I work out at the 120th and Sheridan 24 Hr. but usually go to the 80th and Sheridan 24 Hr. if I don't feel like waiting in line for machines during the peak hours because that place is almost always dead when I am there.

I get off work at 10:30pm which is what time Planet Fitness closes. Thats the best time for me to work out, as I'm ready to go, and don't have a ton of school work to do. Plus my fiancee gets up and goes to PF in the AM so I can't do that, someone has to stay with my little one till she is old enough to be on her own.
PF is good cause it's cheap and thats really about it for me.

if you grunt or drop a weight they have this alarm they can sound called the "Lunk" alarm. I laughed my ass off when I found out what that was
I see what they are doing, they are trying to make a gym that is comfortable for all the people that are overweight and don't have experience. They have their niche there that's for sure

I just joined the Snap 24hr fitness, and it looks like it is going to be a lot more user friendly for me (24hrs a day!!) Can't wait to get back at it, and have a gym I can go to any time I want!

Lifetime Fitness should even have the word fitness in the title but be considered Lifetime Country Club.

World Gym was a Planet Fitness for a bit, then Peak Fitness, and now something else.
The new Gold's Gym is fantastic. That's where I go now after signing up for cheap before they opened.

Hey ColoBB
Yeah, I love Lieftime Fitness... at first I was REALLY hesitant cause its like all ritzy and doesnt seem hardcore at ALL!!! The damn cafe, salon, massage, private studio yoga crap!!! but actually there are ALOT of competitiors that work out there and train hard and I really enjoy the atmosphere... a gym is what u make of it I think... people who are raggin on lifetime shouldnt knock it before they try it, they make it VERY convenient to work out, have a ton of equipment so ur NEVER waiting for anything basically... its GREAT!
I havent been to the westminster one but I will probably be hitting it up on the weekend and training there. I also train at Ballys on Grant and 104th area evey weekend cause I am usually up north... but
ANYWAYS....
WHo is going to the Boulder Northern BB show??

What up, im a C Springer as well. I've bought plenty of stuff at Maximum Sports Nutrition. They got 2 locations, one on Flintridge and Academy up north and one on 8th St down south. I've only gone to the Flintridge location, they are real nice and knowledgeable and if they dont have what you want they can usual order it for you. I just prefer gettin everything online cuz its so much cheaper. Hope that helps man.

check out snap fitness, you get an access card, and swipe it at the door to get it, can go any time you want. Google it and you can use the location finder to see if there is one near you.
