This is me January 17th when I joined a gym and started a change in my diet. I am 222lbs at 5'10" in this pic. The second one is me two weeks later at 218. My goal is to be 190lbs by June. Hopefully I will have a flat stomach by then, but I just don't know. Might have to go lower than that.

there is a diference in chest traps and arms. increase water intake to close to a gallon a day..eat clean 6 small meals a day starting as soon as you get up, then ever 2 to 3 hours after. a protein drink can be some of your meals.

10 weeks in to weight and cardio training, eating good food and still off the smoking without any probs. Heres my progress so far. I dont have any pics of myself from 10 weeks ago without top, but I have noticed considerable difference in health and clothes starting to hang off me, sorry about pic quality as well, Im certainly no photographer. Along way to go but Im pretty happy so far.
10 weeks ago - 234.5 lb
10 weeks later - 220lb, 2 pics

Can definitely see a big diff even though "before" is shirted. I'm confused. Are you 228lb now or 220lb?

Started at 234.5lb 10 weeks ago, weighed myself at 8 weeks and was 228lb which didnt seem like a big drop but I wasnt worried about it cause I could see a difference and felt alot better health wise and in the last 2 weeks I thought I would weigh myself again as I was noticing a big visual difference and clothes seemed to be to big, but wasnt sure if it was just my eyes and mind playing tricks, but the weight has just fallen off (8lbs) in the last 2 weeks. I have no idea why it just came off so quickly in the last 2 weeks, but it has (now 220lb), my routine and food havent changed except for the weights I am now lifting are heavier. I havent updated profile, thats why it still reads 228lb.

First post
I've been lurking around here for a week looking at all the inspirational posts and I'm really impressed with you guys who aren't willing to let yourselves go to the pack just because you are getting on in years.
I'd love to be a classic mesomorph but I'm not. I'm a long tendoned, short muscled, ectomorph. In a "bodybuilder potential" test I've seen that assesses potential for muscle bulk using "the number of finger widths you can fit between a 90 degree bent forearm and the start of the bicep muscle", I can fit 3-4 finger widths, which I believe is considered "absolutely hopeless". The biggest biceps I ever had were 14.75" in my mid-thirties whilst training 5-6 days a week, 1.5 hours per day, and slamming down every conceivable supplement I could buy, and force feeding myself 6 times a day. It wasn't a sustainable lifestyle, and whilst I looked pretty good (I weighed 10lbs more than I do now with lower bodyfat), I wasn't even remotely looking like "getting big".
Right now I've recently turned 50 years old (attached photo was taken in the last week). I lift fairly heavy (e.g. I bench 4sets x 8+ reps x bodyweight at <1 min intervals) weights every other day for just over an hour at a time. I watch what I eat 6 days a week but I'm not obsessive...just careful with bad-carbs and fat intake and I try to eat good quality fresh food?preferably organic. I don't take any medications or supplements except for a daily multi-vitamin and fish oil. I'm 5'11". Weigh 149lbs. Have a 39" chest, 28.5" waist & 13.75" biceps. My bodyfat is around 8-9% (per skinfold method). Sure, I'm not very big, but I'm happy with the way I look, especially when I stand next to most of my 50 year old peers. With me it was a case of recognising what I had to work with and not trying to achieve the physiologically improbable or unsustainable. Work with your natural assets and a little discipline, and you can get noticed at the beach...even at 50!

Taken yesterday
Another old guy here doing my best to rip up for Summer, keep or maybe even add some quality size. The one change I have made is, I am eating pretty clean 95% of the time, eating every 2 - 3 hours and getting in a good protein with my 6 meals. The extra cardio prob has not hurt either.

2009 FAME Masters World Championships Show Poster
I am sharing space on the 2009 FAME Masters World Championships poster with a beautiful Masters Athlete. This is the fourth time FAME has honored me on a show poster. This will be my 28th show and my fifth Pro Show.

Old Navy, congratulations . Good choice they made!
It's great to see people like you and MR10X are still working out and in great shape in their sixties. Soon they'll have to open a new section for the over 60 people here :-)
I'm only 57. So let's see...this leaves me about 8 years to improve my shape and be on a cover too ...

And while I'm at it, a few pics I took yesterday
After a few weeks break due to a cold, I'm back to the gym and motivation has returned.
I succeeded in reducing my bf somehow and the abs are slowly coming out. My legs are still far behind due to my 3 leg surgeries. After a good start in November, I had to slow down again because of a pain in the right thigh. But I don't give up...
