Hey all, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I'm just about done with my phase 2 recovery week and will be heading into phase 3. I plan on getting up early 3 days of the week and doing cardio. It's time to see some fat shredding!!

Very inspirational thread. Read the whole thing start to finish today. I just started the P90X program today, and at 6'1" and 235 lbs. I felt like a clumsy oaf. could barely get 20 push-ups out at the start and fahgedaboutit towards the end. As badly as I did I felt pretty nauseous towards the very end before I had to stop 15 minutes from the end of the chest/back workout, so I must have been doing something right. Can't believe how out of shape I've let myself get, but I know in a few weeks I'll be able to pump more out and in better form.
2 issues I have so far. 1 is that, even though I have the pullup bar, all my doorways are too low, and since I can't really lift my fat self high enough to do a proper chinup I have to use a chair... which at over 6' tall isn't really working out too well. Looks like I'll have to opt for the resistance bands. 2nd issue is the diet. The diet looks great, and and I can't believe how much food is on it. But I hate cooking, and I want a fast, cheap, and simple alternative. It looks like a few people here are experimenting a bit... any advice on journals or anything with simple alternatives?

Just don't get resistance bands from a Sports Authority - I've broken 4 of them (I'm done buying them!) and have bruises to show for it
As far as the diet it's always easier to stick to whatever is quick. The only time I cook during the day is to make an egg white omelette for breakfast, and that takes 10 minutes. Amy's California-Style Veggie Burgers are awesome for quick meals. They take maybe a minute to microwave and I'll have organic mixed vegetables with it, which also take about a minute to microwave. Amy's also makes a great Vegetable Lasagna. Hell, if you are looking for anything to just freeze and microwave I'd go with Amy's brand.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice! This will really simplify things.
Speaking of omelets... does anyone know if something like egg-beaters would be a good substitute for 10 egg-whites (or however many eggs I'm supposed to be using)? Seems like such a waste of money to use only part of an egg and practically a whole carton at that.

That made me curious...I found this: http://www.eggbeaters.com/recipes/faq.jsp
Looks like I'll be switching to Egg Beaters' Egg Whites.

Quick Post: I'm up at 6:30 am to do my cardio x. Today is begining of phase 3. I'm feeling really pumped and ready to go! I put on a good deal of muscle during phase 1 and 2 and now I'm hoping to sustain that muscle whle I shred some fat. I'm adding cardio 3x a week in the mornings, 4 if I can. We'll see how it goes.

I would say hang in there with the kenpo. You may feel uncoordinated the first time, even the second time, but after a while you will pick it up no problem at all. Anyway, it's not about being coordinated, it's about getting your butt kicked and if that's happening it's working.
As for the yoga, it takes a while to get into it. My best advise is to really try to clear your mind and focus on your breath the whole time. That may sound challenging, but after a while it becomes soothing and relaxing. Yoga is a big challenge, I actually have it today. The best thing about Yoga is, it's the best place to show your improvments. You get further into poses and get better at them. It's the greatest proof that you're improving yourself. You have to try to force yourself through it, if you want something you've never had before you have to do something you've never done before.
Overall, keep pushing play and don't get discouraged.

Hell yeah...that's great progress for only 60 days! I also use the P90X for my workouts and I love it...I don't watch the videos any more as I know the exercises by heart, but I keep the book open for reference. The ab ripper is tough! I actually have the P90X+ ab ripper as well, but I haven't tried it yet.
Keep up the great work and keep pressing play!

Wow, great job man! You can really see the difference in your face, and you have clearly put on muscle.
I'm starting my P90X routine tomorrow. You can see my journal in this thread: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...highlight=p90x
I'll definitely be checking in here from time to time to see how things are going. I'm sure it's in this thread already, but how much weight have you dropped? And, have you been eating the amount that P90X recommends? I'm kind of straddling Level 1 and Level 2 because I think Level 2 is too many calories. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and great job once again!

Jeff, my P90x brother,
I've had a horrible past week and I was absolutely struggling this morning with Back & Biceps. I took a little bit longer break and had a million thoughts racing through my mind (because of this past week). I stopped, breathed, and thought of you (no homo!) and this thread.
I killed the rest of my workout.
Thanks.

Awesome Progress sofar! Keep it up!
Yesterday was poly...always a good workout!
Is anyone drinking a different recovery drink or do you think the P90 one is the best one to get? This whole last week I have been doing it without the recovery drink. Do you think it makes a difference?

Gaining muscle and losing bodyfat...thats a good thing...The more muscle the more calories your body burns. Excellent progress pics! Are you doing more reps or more weight?

Hey all. I appreciate everyone still reading.
I got a little burnt out from the X way of living with me new job so I'm thinking right now of what I want to do. Right now I'm gearing towards restarting and doing the Lean program vs the classic. I won't be updating in this log anymore as I felt guilty and accountable for not keeping up with it. I appreciate everyone reading again and good luck to all of you with your workout programs.
