Fractured wrist doing lateral raise...
Last night I was doing lateral raise with dumbells and think I fractured my wrist as I heard a crack and couldnt continue my training. Its not swollen or anything but it kills when I try to twist it or move it in certain positions... im so annoyed about it.
I'm gonna rest it until next week, but what excercise can I do instead of lateral raise as an alternative when i next train shoulder?

You should see a doctor, chances are you will be making it worse.

Don't use that arm until you get it checked out. I doubt it'd be a fracture, probably a sprain, though you do need to get it looked at.

I thought a sprain would be muscle related? I heard and felt a crack and then I couldnt continue using the arm after lateral raise. I woke up this morning and it kills when I move it, but its not swollen or bruised in any way... does that mean it cant be fractured?

Go to the doctor and get an x-ray taken. That's the only way you'll know for sure. And if everything is fine, but your wrist is still sore, do some wide-grip upright rows instead. Either that or you can use one of those lateral raise machines where you push against the pads with your shoulders. You wouldn't even have to grip anything when doing that.

Strains are muscle-related; sprains are ligamentary and ligaments are known for sometimes giving a "cracking" sound when acutely injured. Tendons do the same, so it could be a strain as well, though the cracking sounds are more often heard with sprains. Get it checked out and let us know how you're doing.

Same thing happened to me yesterday while doing lat raises. I went to the doctor this morning and he said that my ligaments were either torn or over-stretched. I was prescribed painkillers, a wrist brace and a physio referral. He also said that I shouldn't be doing any lifting for the next 5-6 weeks

If you want to do a lateral raise without using your wrist, some gyms have a machine where you keep your arms close to your body, and slide in between to pads, and then you lift the pads laterally without your hands having to grasp anything. I can't think of what it's called though. Probably just a lateral raise machine but I dont know. Sucks to hear man, good luck.
