this thread is classic.........
there were these guys at the gym last night (it was kinda late) and these 2 jackasses were groaning after every rep of every set. my being the smart fatass that I am happened to be doing incline press right next to their station. i asked them politley to stop, and they stopped for one set and started back up again.
my budy spotting me suggested we do the same thing, so we did. i was grunting louder than them and faster than them. then they got annoyed by it and came and apologized to0 us.
i didnt expecrt that whatsoever, haha

You're a gym idiot if:
1. you bump into someone/their bar/weight while theyre lifting
2. you walk in from outside and track mud/water/snow all over my squat station/the rest of the gym
3. you load up the bench press with way too much weight and proceed to lift it with a ROM of 6 inches
4. you always drop dumbbells from any position after your set, and you wonder why so many of them have broken
5. you walk around outside the locker room without a shirt on to flex your pecs in front of the water fountain (and realize that no women are around and youre a tool)

You are a Gym Idiot if:
You take a freakin Broadsheet with you to the Gym and read it WHILE working out!!
Now I have seen people read Mags and Books on the Bikes and stuff, whatever. But I have never seen anyone read while working a LatPulldown, let alone a Broadsheet (You know, the Newspaper with lots of pullout sections) I just had to take a longer break between sets to make sure I wasnt seeing things.
Oh and yeah, big he AINT

LOL - this happened to me last week - I was doing 'power curls' with an Olympic Bar - a 14/15 year old kid, probably weighed about 110lbs, wasn't looking where he was going and took a 150lb bar to the shoulder.
It properly knocked him the the floor. He cried. Serious.
I felt bed for a bit, then I lol'd. Haven't seen him in the gym since.

How else are you supposed to put the dumbbells down after db press?
|
sit up, bend forward with hand going down to the ground, release grip once weights have stopped moving towards the ground (if you're not already looking)

It was the kids fault, not his. I bet he remembers now! Now if ye threw a barbell like a javlin from across the gym to hit him in the chest it might have ruined him.

I come there a friend of mine....its leg day for us, and i wanna squat.
I come to the squat rack and i see and incline bench press in there(im like wtf).
So i start moving it away and this dude comes along and i look at him and ask if hes using this..he says yes...so i think ok..wanna see what hes doing.
So he is doing incline bench press in the squat rack....thats a first for me.
Ok fine if ur such a dumb fuk...do it..the gym was pretty empty.....
But he does one set on incline bench presses in the squat rack, then goes to a normal flat bench press....then goes for leg press...and repeats the cycle again....
I was proper pissed off....hes takin up 3 pieces of equipment, takin his own sweet time...and doing incline bench press in the squat rack..so i told him that this is a squat rack and he cant use it this way....
He got all pissed off at me and before he could start shouting or ranting i just told him that this is my gym and he better shut the fuk up or i'll ban him.
he said he was sorry and everyone was looking at him and giggling
|
Do you have an incline bench press station? If not i dont see what the problem was.

1. You are a gym idiot if you are circuiting between two machines at 5:30 pm when the gym is packed and you don't realize that taking up two machines when the gym is crowded is rude!!
2. You are a gym idiot if you have a tribal arm band tattoo.
3. You are a gym idiot if you wear a hat or beanie while working out.
4. You are a gym idiot if you stand around talking with your friends taking up space by the weights.

How about the people that hop on the cross trainer at level 1 and spin it as fast as they can go, arms flailing, bouncing side to side.... adds some entertainment at least.
Or, people that crank the treadmills up to the highest incline setting....to where they have to hang on so they dont fall off, because they are fooling themselves that they can actually workout at that incline.

If you swing and throw the highest weight possible around whilst grunting for one set of 6, thinking it is doing more good than bad, you are offically a gym idiot.

no it doesnt, its fine to drop the weights, but when you thrash about swinging with crappy form you wont get anywhere, coleman is certainly not a gym idiot.
Like so:
Too much weight + bar tilting = poor tecnique, gym idiot.

Why is wearing a hat while working out idiotic? Why do you care what other peoplw wear when working out. I find working with a hat on, when training alone i have more focus!

I dont find wearing a hat to cause focus, but it keeps my hair out of my face, which stops me getting pissed off. So I believe it's logical. Or you could wear a headband and look gay.

How bout if you come over acting like a dick talking about how to use the ab machine in "proper form" when you got a freaking beer gut and I got a six pack. we get it! at one time in your pathetic life you were in shape and now you think youre a bad ass for life. all gym idiots should be sent to an island with foam weights so they can swing them dangerously around and have their endless bs conversations while someone waits for thier machine/bench.
