Two best decisions:
Stop using machines and focus on free weights and second decision was to start lifting weights.
It seems as natural as breathing now

^^^This. Specifically. Taking the time and effort to find exactly what works best for me. And it was not a short process. In fact, it's still going on, after years.

Keeping up with my journal daily. Buying multi/oils. Doing squats and deadlifts correctly. You aren't really doing much if you dont have the right form. I also just bought a squat belt so that might need to be included in this post in a couple weeks.

I am a bit opposite on the first part.
I lift for functional strength and general size but I wasted too much time on isolation exercise, ESPECIALLY repeat isos on small muscle groups. The day I got into pl/ol compounds and realized compounds+food = my goals is when my weight/strength sky rocketed. However, for maximum hypertrophy over some areas I do realize I will it will never happen without isolations.
A near equal decision--yes true--would be the day I created a bb.com journal. Especially during my PL phase, the journal forced my workouts and forced me to best my previous attempts - especially for the subscribers. Over 7k replies now, and it is invaluable... also it was the cause for my return after a large break off weights.

I think doing heavy squats/deadlifts correctly help a lot of people break past one of those plateaus or barriers you'll find you run into at times with bodybuilding. I have seen crazy gains the past 2 months with bulking now that I've added deadlifting and I'm squatting deeper, on top of ramping up the amount of calories I'm taking in.

Sorting my diet out.
Ie: Eatin MORE and not eatin complete rubbish. I've cut out all junk foods, sweets chocolate and such. Havent eaten anythin on those lines for about 3 months now, and I feel so much better for doin it. I have confidence that I can keep it up.
Also
Treatin my liftin like a hobby, and not a job.
Since doin these I've seen better results than I ever did before.

There are more kirby fans than I expected here. When I first changed, I got like 10 reps just for the sig/user title. So if you are gay nao, then you aren't alone at least.

Don't say stuff like: "I don't train my forearms because it's always worked" or "Shoulders are always worked, don't need a day for itself."
Try working EVERY muscle with isolations. I noticed good gains with isolations like wrist curls, lateral raises, all that good stuff.

1. Learning that workout programs can only be followed to a certain degree and that you have to learn how to match it to how your body reacts.
2. Deadlifts/squats
3. Learning that running and plyometrics are essential for myself anyhow
4. Learning that balance is the key, just as it is in life.

The best decision I have ever made was really straightening out my diet. Made a HUGE difference, of course. I even weight my food now (never thought I would do this!) and pack my daily meals each morning. The diet has been the most difficult part, but certainly the most rewarding.

1.) Getting in the door no matter what
2.) Eating like a man, not a 12 year old girl
3.) Never doing the same WO twice, always something, even if small is different.
