Protein and weight gainers

Are weight gainers neccesary or would just putting banana, PB, and oats in whey be good. And if you do like weight gainers could you point in the right direction of a good one cause there is just so many out there. thanks

My advice with gainers is to simply make sure the sugar and fat content is as low as possible. A lot of these gainers keep the fat content high so that you can gain the wait. Another good tip is to make sure you time the intake of the gainer shake. I would either only take it first thing in the morning, or right after a workout. The rest of the day stick to normal high protein shakes.

Its better to make your own shakes
Whey/eggs for protein
fruit and oats for carbs
PB for fat

Weight gainers are high priced and just add in saturated fat and processed sugars to get calories high

lol... so much misinformation in this thread.

Most weight gainers are low fat. The only ones that I can think of that are high fat off the top of my head are the musclemilk ones, and all their products have added fats.

90% of the ones that add sugar add fructose, not table sugar.

No one adds saturated fat, that's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. They occasionally add Medium Chain Triglycerides, but those are healthy. Otherise, they usually add a "creamer" which is sunflower oil, or something similar.

And weight gainers are cheap as ****. They're sooo much cheaper than real food. I don't know where you guys get this stuff from. Cytogainer, an expensive weight gainer, is 4 bucks a pound right now.

Just eat real food that actually tastes good.

You'd be just as well off having some brownies with whey as you would with a weight gainer.... yet for some reason the weight gainer is deemed "clean".
