Is it okay....
to do 12 weeks of the Cut diet to prep for pictures and repeat for a competition 17 weeks later?
Thanks for the program by the way....I have been following the Cut Diet informally for about 4-6 weeks after reading the book, but was in the middle of a move to a different town so have been with out a gym/kitchen/etc. for a couple weeks.
Today is my official first day of training...and thank jebus I had a few weeks of practice with the diet.
Keeping simple works the best for me....never hungry and can't believe the results that I feel in such a short amount of time. One or two days makes a HUGE difference.
The only issue is that since I live in Canada I am having a hard time finding Scivation supps. I did find Xtend and it is oh so good....but Dialene? Sesamin?
Let the games begin for real this time!

How much time off are you leaving yourself between the photoshoot and the cmopetition? Are you doing fitness, figure or bbing?
I live in Canada, and I get the Scivation supps from bodybuilding.com. But leave yourself 2-3 weeks for shipping. So order A LOT at one time so that you're not caught without it
Unfortunately, bbing.com won't ship anything with Yohimbine in it...so just keep that in mind

I need motivation! (magic healing powder would be good too!)
Had Hernia surgery a week ago. Still hurt like hell and cant do anything. Leisurely walking is a struggle. I feel like I'm withering away to nothing. Contest in 5 weeks. Diet is dialed in per Derek's instructions. Xtend being consumed at 20 scoops a day. 20 extra grams of glutamine a day. Please, someone tell me that my pump will return when I start back with the weights.

A couple of quick questions here:
I wake up at 7 a.m. and go to school and later to work. I take my food to school and work so that is not a problem.
1) Sometimes because of work I might have to wait inbetween meals 3 and 4 upwards of 4 hours. How bad will that throw me off?
2) What time, in your opinion, should the last meal (6) of the day be eaten?
3) I am about ~230 right now. How many scoops of xtend during the workout? Post workout?
4) Protein brownie is the ****
Diet is going good and I can stay on it. Also I am not hungry or anything. The only other diet I have had great success with is the keto diet but it hurt my strength so bad that I have stayed away from it this spring cut. I put myself on the 2000 calorie, 6 meals per day. Thanks in advance.

No doubt you'll get it back
As long as your diet is on check, I have no doubt you'll hit your peak. Just keep listening to D...he'll take care of you!

1) It's not that bad....maybe just try drinking xtend between meals.
2) 1 - 1.5 hours before bed
3) 6 scoops during a workout...

Thanks! Just a small "pick-me-up" was all I needed. Did my first lifting post surgery (only been a week) and felt really good. Kept everything light with higher reps but got a decent pump out of it. I feel much more confident now. Team Scivation continues to motivate and dominate!

I had hernia surgery for a supraumbilical(above the bellybutton from pregnancy) at the beginning of November...I took it easy for the recommended 6 weeks as I didn't want to tear anything and have to have surgery again. Yeah it is hard on you...I never imagined that I would be soooo out of commission!! but luckily we have muscle memory and I am back and then some....and got back into it as soon as the 6 weeks were up. Just make sure that you stick with the diet and reduce your calories if you can't do anything.
Don't worry...you'll be back into it in no time. Just let your body heal effectively!! If you don't it will put you back further in the long run!

Hello Scivation it is me again:
OK so I have been sticking to this diet (2000 calories) very well. Eat the right foods with correct weights at the right times. Doing the cardio but I do my own weight training plan. Very easy to follow from the pdf book file. I feel great. The problem is from eating constantly throughout the day I am plain and simply not hungry by meal 6 and sometimes even 5. I have never had a problem eating at all and would consume 4000 calories through 3 big meals and some snacks but this meal plan seriously fills me up on less than half the calories. What can I do about this problem of not eating my last meals and will it mess me up? I try to drink xtend instead of eating the last meal.

Just keep working on it. I have sooo many clients say this same thing to me. EVERY one of them changes there tune down the road. It gets to a point that they want to eat more and more! Your metabolism WILL speed up greatly and you will always be ready to eat. If you must, add a scivation whey shake with EFAs as your last meal of the day. Also, check your training intensity. Are you doing cardio? If not, start NOW!

Cool. Thanks for quick response. Yep cardio and training intensity is not a problem. I have a decent size muscle mass underneath some layers of chub. Dieting has always been the problem. The only great diet I did was a keto diet but i lost so much strength along with way.

Just stick with it. Like anything else, it takes practice. Best of luck!

quick question
Hi-
I recently came across this diet and am excited to try it but I'm not sure where to start. I'm female- 5'2 and 145lbs. I train 5 days a week and run approx 5 miles a day. I'm looking to lean out but have been stuck. My diet is pretty clean now but I have been slow to make progress so something needs to change. Should I start with the 1,500 calories or the 1,200 calories? Thanks for your help

At the beginning of the book, there are reccomendations on where to start based on your bodytype and bodyfat percentage.
Take a look at the calculations to get a baseline level

Food questions (foods not in the book)
Hey guys, quick question about some food choices. I've been trying to experiment with some random veggies and spices to make food taste good and i wanted to know if htey are okay on teh cut diet
One big question i have is, is canola oil acceptable for a fat?
Also the following
Mushrooms?
Paprkia, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, etc, are they okay?
Green peppers?
Hot peppers?
Now i have this cheese,ts Whole Milk Mozzarella( i know its not the best idea) but if i follow the nutrional information and weights, will it be okay as a fat source maybe once a day? Heres the specs:
Calories 90 (per 28 g)
Total fat: 7 g
Sat. Fat: 4 g
Trans fat: 0g
Cholestoral: 20 mg
Sodium: 190 mg
Total Carbs: <1 g
protein: 6 g
I've just discovered this new idea and it tastes damn good: Cheese/Mushrooms/Hot peppers wrapped in chicken breast with some garlic powder, bake for 30 mins. Its delicous.
Sorry for the long post, I dont wanna do anything that will sacrifice my progress. Thanks again!

Canola oil is a giant thumbs up...good stuff.
Not sure about the powders and I believe the green peppers are alright if replacing green beans/broc.
The cheese is a giants thumbs down...not good stuff (at least on the cut diet).

You could fat free cheese and olive oil, it is a bit salty though so just be wary of that.

I have one question about the cut diet regarding grapefruit; is there any significant difference between white grapefruit vs. red grapefruit? I'm curious about the narginin content as well as the sugar content, it just hit me today while I was at the supermarket. Any help would be great.

Hey guys. I started the cut diet 2500 yesterday and I have a couple questions.
I'm a senior in high school, so my meal times are kind of weird. What do you guys think about this schedule:
On normal days: 6AM, 8:25AM, 10:45AM, 1:05PM, 4:00PM, lift from 6-7:45 (with cardio), Meal 6 is around 8:30PM and then bed around 10
On wednesday: 6AM, 8:15AM, 10:15AM, 12:15PM, 3:30PM, lift from 5:30-7:15, meal 6 around 8PM, then bed around 10
Is that afternoon too spread out? Last meal until bed and finish lifting until meal 6? or am I just over thinking
Also, If I take 1g Fish Oil pills, do I need 15 to equal my fat for that meal? That just seems like a lot.
But other then that, this diet is kick ass. Day 1 went great, and I'll be looking forward to participate in this thread.
Thanks,
Mitch

But other then that, this diet is kick ass. Day 1 went great, and I'll be looking forward to participate in this thread.
Thanks,
Mitch

I wouldn't take that much fish oil IMO, too much EPA/DHA can be detrimental; if your body's inflammatory response is hindered too much it can/will hinder muscle growth. I'd just use olive oil or almonds or something similar.

There are some differences between red and white. In calories there is about 15 less cals in white than red. Fat and carbs are about the same. The real differences are as follows:
Red Grapefruits contain higher levels of lycopene, which fight oxygen free radicals (which have been shown to damage cells). Red Grapefruits also have slightly higher levels of antioxidents.
I'd opt for Pink or Red, given the choice!

|
Yes you are over-thinking. This schedule is just fine.

Fish oil pills should be taken as directed on the bottle and not used as a source of fat with your meals and not counted towards your fat intake per meal or total fat intake for the day.
|
Your fat sources should come from the fat sources listed in the book!

Okay, thats what I thought, just wanted to make sure.
One more quick question. Say hypothetically, I start a meal at 9:00 and finish at 9:30.. should I start the next meal at 11 or 11:30?

I posted this over in the "loosing fat" section but on the reccomendation of another member ill post it over here. Im going to start the cut diet here the 2nd week in March. Im planning on running an E/C stack as well as Xtend. My question is what sort of weight loss should i shoot for per week, since im running the E/c Stack in addition with the diet. Should i still shoot for the standard 2 pounds or no. also, the other member mentioned that scale weight loss wont be significant with this diet because you will still be able to build muscle. Just wanted to clear some things up before i start, thanks for any help in advanced!!
