AS nice as that sounds, for me it would be Frank Zane. Back when I was just starting to lose weight, I bought Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding, and the pictures that impressed me the most were Zane. His was the body that I would like to resemble the most; a body that could stand alongside the classical Greek gods, full of dynamic presence and symmetry.

I don't mind the diet to much but I miss my Pepsi. When I am done I am keeping the strict diet but adding a post workout Pepsi as this is a good time to drink a pop because it will actually help to flood your muscles with glycogen. This is even recommend in the book Massive at Last by Robert Kennedy and Dwayne Hines II.

I was tempted to let my gut relax, slouch over, and frown in my "before" shots. I actually did take a couple of shots like that, but then I did my best pose for the contest entry. Comparing my photos (slouching vs. flexing), taken within minutes of each other, they'd almost qualify for before/after photos for a 12-week contest. It's the waist hanging over on the sides in both of them that gives me away. I should have put my hands on my waist to cover those handles up.

The guy looks great but just looks like he is pumped and flexing in second pic not a huge difference but he has a great physique.

I agree Zane had an awesome physique. He still looks good today. I watched his most current video " Train with Zane" and he looks good for his age and he has a lot of knowledge to pass on to others. I admire most physiques of the pro's I just don't ever want that big GH/insulin gut. I have to say when I was young I idolized Bruce Lee and Arnold. If I could pick how my body looked it would be like Arnold.

Newbie
It's now or never. I haven't trained for weightlifting and I'm totoally new to this. This contest will motivate me to strive for a healthier lifestyle by losing fat and gaining muscle. We'll see what I'll look like in my after photos.

That's why I'd love to see the vacuum pose done on stage again. Even Arnold, with his massive physique, was able to pull of the vacuum pose, and even recommended taking time during ab routines to do it. I practice it all the time when I'm flexing in front of the mirror. Coincidentally, the new Muscle & Fitness has Bruce Lee on the cover to promote that issue's ab routines. It's an interesting read to see how the legend but it all together.

I agree with you completely, no hate here. I think he is doing a great job. I know lots of us will make some unbelievable changes, I just didn't think someone would do it that soon.

Go to Photobucket, create a free account, upload pics, copy and then paste the UBB code to this page.
1) There are other ways, but I'm unfamiliar with them. Perhaps another kind soul will offer assistance as well.
2) The pics here are recommended but not a requirement.
3) Upload pics to your BodySpace profile progress gallery.
Good luck in the contest.

ah the infamous MuscleTech contest! Well, all you guys should lay off because I'm a student at UGA and I need the money! haha just kidding. This competition is great. It's really good motivation for people to really change their bodies. It's going to be hard to balance schoolwork and transforming at the same time but I believe I can do it. I once lost 40 pounds so now I'm just packing on the muscle haha. Good Luck to all!

In! And wishing everyone great personal success!
Looking forward to participating in this contest.
Weigh 188 lbs. at 6'1" in these pics.
Wishing everyone success up in this thing. My goal is to tighten up the waistline. I've got some mighty wide hips there. If any of you know who IFBB Pro Toney Freeman is then you know that he'd run screaming if he woke up with my bone structure.
Oh, yeah, plus the "no muscle" thing would be a big surprise, too.
So, izzdiswhereiputmy essaaaaay? Enhowdoipost mypiiiiiics? HEEELLLLPMEEEEEEE!!!
That'd be my most NON muscular pose. :-p
Ah, so that's where the red shorts went! And check out the black "Dorian" socks. D'OH!
Hmm. I guess you can actually only see part of one sock, but, yeah.
Good luck to all! :-)

You and me, both. They actually say that vacuums are a good way to get that crisp definition in the 6-pac. Hey, I'll do anything to improve the situation. The trouble with my vacuums, though, is that I can't see any difference when I pulling in with ALL my might. Too much gut in the way. Maybe when I get down to 5%.
Here's the proof that I'm not there YET. This is the difference after 2 weeks--180 down to 174, 13% down to 12%.

The trouble with that is how long it takes this forum to load--it has to go out to photobucket to get the pics.
Just upload pics to your BodySpace profile progress gallery. Then right click on any one and select "copy link location."
Then come here to the forum and paste that link between the html code for image:
And you might want to size the images before you upload them to your progress gallery so that they are maybe 500 pixels high. That way they won't go over the size of the screen.
