Look up exercises on expanding your lung capacity so you can take deeper breaths and hold them in longer.

Open your mouth and scream when you run out of breath.

Oh..well then only advice I can give you is go at a steady pace, don't use any strong bursts of power that will require more oxygen to your muscles.
good luck, dont think there is much else you can do now about holding your breath for longer.

But... You're a misc, broski! I'm sure those ginormous lungs can withstand a measly 27m compasity! Don't be a pussy and doubt yourself. I wanna punch you in the face for doing so.
 You'll do fine

Do you get to dive in? If so, make sure to get a big jump with lots of speed. That will help a lot. Before the swim calm yourself and take lots of deep breaths while exhaling slightly slower than normal. That will oxygenate your blood. When swimming, concentrate and don't overexert yourself (freak out) when underwater. Swim with a powerful and smooth rhythm to maximize speed.
edit: just to be clear, if he dives it will be around 20 seconds of swimming. not too hard.

in one breath it is. possible, hard. I used to have a 30 ft swimming pool, and I was able to go across it 2.5x in one breath, after practicing for a long time.

in BDU's = much more drag = much harder to swim = work harder = more oxygen = me not making it

LUNG PACKING
Inhale until lungs are filled, and then force additional air into the lungs by swallowing hard.
I expect reps.

it will be a bit harder with just a wall push. just try your best to explode off the wall by crouching into the wall as much as you can. in the last 5m you'll probably be starved for O2 and getting lots of pains. just remember that you're body still has tons of O2 in its blood. deal with the pain and make it. you wont pass out, the distance is too short.

I have HORRIBLE conditioning and I can swim 75 feet(22.86 meters) underwater in my pool. If you work out a lot and practice a few times in someones pool you should be fine.
EDIT: DIdnt know what BDU is, holy **** dude, good luck.

get comfortable in the water so you body automatically goes into conservation mode, heart rate slows, oxygen levels maintain....you gotta build up to it like anything else....pro divers and whatnot they can hold there breath for a looonnnggg time by learning this skill immediately upon entering the waters, thats what happens to there bodies....its reverse of what an untrained typical body's reaction would be. Good luck.
