It's Feb and that means I'm starting to be a bit done w/ the strong cold (0ish in dark age temps). I'm looking forward to maple syrup season, which should be starting up sometime soon.
I lived in FL for college and I really missed real seasons. I wouldn't mind a vacation somewhere warm in late feb, but I really wouldn't want to miss the snow season.

I'm so depressed
On my first run skiing Saturday, an out of control snowboarder hit me while I was waiting on my partner to come down the slope. I was thrown about 10 ft, knocked unconcious, and broke my collar bone in two places as a result of the impact. After I was taken off the mountain by the rescue ski patrol, I had to spend the rest of the day in the ER. Now I have to wear a sling for the next 2 plus months. I can't do anything. I can't lift my arm at all. As a result, I can't get myself dressed, wash myself, cut my own food, can't work out, etc.. I feel so helpless.
And the timing couldn't be worse. I supposed to go to Winter Party and the Atlantis cruise in three weeks.
The pain is also terrible.

That sucks. I broke mine at 13 and it did hurt to move. I didn't wear a sling, it was some type of strap that went on both shoulders to keep them back (man bra) and from moving the wrong way. The constant pain will go away, but when you move the wrong way it will hurt. Sorry about the timing, but you can always play the drama/princess role for the next couple of months. It will get better.

Thanks everybody. Very soon I'll stop feeling sorry for myself...it's not in my nature.
Regarding the cruise: I mean I could go but what fun would I have? I'm your basic "wild and crazy" circuit kid. I won't be able to dance or play. What's the point? I'm not going for the shrimp buffet.

I wouldn't want to go on a vacation while severely injured, neither as the low-key guy I am nor even if I were a party kid.
i'd try to pawn it off on somebody else and get your money back. And then have an enjoyable vacation once you get better

but our programming and social norms/peer & religouos pressure in some cases pushes a lot of gay people into hetro even though they would not choose it if being gay and being straight were equally accepted in the culture.
just my thoughts on it... not trying to re-kindle any old debates.
