How many weeks away from a show should you order your suit? I know it would be a terror to receive the day before the show, but what if you order too many weeks ahead and gain/lose a significant amount of muscle or weight?

Should your one piece and two piece coordinate? Should they be the same fabric, color, etc? Or is it okay to walk out in a hot pink one piece and a royal blue two piece in the same show?

What colors look best with what? For example, an olive complexion (I know everyone is dark on stage!), black hair, brown eyed competitor.

Is there a rule/etiquette for wearing the same suit to two different shows?

Any other advice you think might be helpful that I didn't think to ask, please give! One day I'll look back at all this when I'm a Pro and think "Wow, I was an igmo preparing for my first show!" LOL. But I wasn't afraid to ask questions!

If you are competing in NPC you don't need a 1-piece. It is always best to order 12 weeks out although some suitmakers will do it with less time.

They do not need to coordinate.

Avoid colors like yellow or light blue. darker colors look better on stage.

You can wear the same suits to as many shows as you'd like. There is no rule etc etc.

you can order your suits "bare" and stone them yourself. can save you hundreds of $$$!!
It's really easy to stone a suit.

I have olive undertones to my skin too so was really careful when picking a suit color. Basically I would stick with the darker jewel tones and you will be fine.

I am having mine made right now for my March show and going with a deep burgandy. I wore a purple last show and that goes fine with our skin color as well.
