My groin!
(Okay, I looked but couldnt find anything..)
So I did a light leg workout Wed. (leg press, squats) because I'm starting an new plan next week. I wasnt too sore Thurs. so I went and got a massage about an hour after my workout. **side note: this chick in my office was telling me how it was bad to get a massage after a workout because of the lactic acid and blah blah blah. i told her she didnt know what the hell she was talking about; it felt damn good.** But the masseuse guy. First off, he was REALLY interested in my crotch area. "Oh, you're really tight here.." and I'm like "Yeah I try to keep it that way.." Sorry, I'm getting off track..
Basically, he really put a rubbing on my groin area yesterday and then I had a 2 mile run this morning. And now I feel like I pulled something. Almost like its over stretched, but I'm not sure. All I know is, my crotch hurts.
Whats good for really stretching out the groin area?

its not overstretched More so as it is most likely bruised and inflammed from the extreme rubbing he put down. Sometimes a rough massage done wrong can actually bruise and damage the muscles and make them take even longer to repair.
Sometimes i get deep tissue work, and sometimes they mess up, its 50/50 lol

Huh.. i might be missing something but you let him massage your groin? As in....massage THE SPOT? I know i probably misunderstood something but please clarify.

this could be it. i thought it was better because it was cool over the weekend, but it started to hurt again once i got to work. i think its because at work, i take longer strides and walk a lot faster (which kinda hurts that part) as opposed to when im at home, im chillin and walking slow.

It might be a good idea to work on ur leg flexibility with some pilates- style stretches, focusing on the problem areas.
There are lots of good stretches for the groin area- maybe incorporate these stretches as a warm-up before u work out? (if u dont already warm up).
Its usually better to avoid these kinds of injuries/pains in the first place rather than cure them when they happen. But these things DO Happen.
Check out some pilates websites and also gymnastics websites cuz they will have some great stretches for sure.

massages are good for muscle growth, many pro bodybuilders depend on there deep tissue massages...they feel the deep tissues will stretch and almost tear the harder muscle tissue and allow for more growth. but you would know if you had a deep tissue, they are not exactly enjoyable.

he probably triggered your psoas muscle, just let it rest a little. If it doesn't get better go back and see him again and ask him to rerelease it. You can put some ice on it too that can help.
but no getting a massage after working out is perfectly fine, it will actually speed up recovery by increasing blood flow and by moving the lactic acid out of the muscles, just make sure you drink extra water to flush the acids out or else you can end up with "flu" like aches.
you never wanna work out (weight train) AFTER a massage through because the massage breaks down the muscles similarly to weight training and you can easily injure yourself because you will be weaker then usual.
