I need to quit my day job!
Had the week off work and i did absolutely nothing but focus on eating properly and lifting!
I need an office job or something because brisk walking minimum 13+ miles per day for work blows.
What a difference having the time to eat properly and the tons of energy i did not spend walking made in the gym!
All PB's this week, most were in the 30+% increase range.
To think i thought i reached a plateau when all i really have to do is quit my job, retire or get an office job LOL.

I hear ya. I average about that in my job, interspersed with lifting at odd angles and dodging moving automatic machinery. I look at the walking as a means to gradually lean up and change the diet accordingly. Granted it's not actual cardio, but it's still energy out and that fuel has to come from somewhere.

How funny. I lament my desk job all the time because I'm sedentary all day. The grass is always greener...thanks for the reminder.

It makes it VERY tough to want to work the wheels in the gym knowing that i'm going to hurt while walking for a couple of days. Wheels look good now but my upper body is starting to run away from them because of this

Slightly off topic but I've always thought delivering for UPS would be a great job from a fitness point of view. All the ones I've known (both guys and gals) are pretty buff.
Funny story: I shipped 2 45lb plates, packed together to a forum member. The DSL driver who picked up the box from my driveway was a 105 lb. woman. She called me to ask what was in the box and when I told here she said "no problem, I can deadlift twice that", LOL.

Keep on walkin
Buff Dad dy
Keep the job and luv it! My daddy is retired mail carrier, he too walked a route. He wasn't into fitness, just usual homeowner and parenting stuff, along with his job. He is about to turn 87, yes, he has slowed down and grown shorter. However, I watched and the doctors watched as he made an amazing and fast recovery from bypass surgery at the age of 70. I tell you, it was all that walkin! cuz the man ate like most of that generation ate, fried and breaded and he luvs his beer!
Your kids will thank you years from now, for your job, that will have you longer and healthier because of it. I know all 5 of my daddy's little girls are grateful for every day of every year!

That's wonderful what it has done for your father! I was just talking to a retired co-worker and he said to hang in there, which i will but back then it was different. 20 years ago the routes were half the size of what they are now. This all changed around 1997 and it is only getting worse. The volumes are up (they say down but there is no way) We deliver all the advertising/flyers now after they confirmed they were getting out of the flyer delivery business upon complaints of a monopoly. They laid off 6000 workers that specifically did this for them to appease the competition and then pawned it off on us, hmmm....
I love the job.I deliver to my own home, kids school and neighbourhood. I plan on retiring at 55 with 35 years service. Like most jobs out there, we have been pinched hard and they want more.We are supposed to be self sufficient, not for profit, which we are through stamps and parcels. The president makes a killing in bonuses and the government makes more money tweaking us. It really takes a toll on ones body. The walking is great for the heart but pounding the pavement is a killer on the joints,back,hips,shoulder..... Not to mention the winter and walking on uneven/unproperly shovelled walkways is really taking a toll on my body, misalligning everything.I got into bodybuilding again to see if it would help with my ailments, which it has.I have strengthened my body to survive. I was tired of hurting everyday. I was tired of telling the kids daddy was wiped out. I was a kick azz multi sport, jack of all sports person that virtually nothing could stop. This was my passion. It finally came down to my job or competitive sports.

Office jobs dont help. Somedays I am in meeting for 8 hours a day. Try getting your meals in then. Order in a bunch of crap food and work through lunch.
