I have a question. I am thinking of trying this. I weigh around 300 right now. How long do you guys stick with this diet and what do you do afterward so you don't balloon in weight and fat?

cool. any word on the stims? i was just trying to workout abs, but i feel so unmotivated i have no idea why. would the benefits of taking hydroxycut hardcore outweight the negatives? will it help burn the fat off, while keeping me working hard, or is the cortisol issue that bad?

It's actually pretty easy to get hungry on this diet. I'm 7 weeks into my 16 week prep, and I'm hungry a few times a day.

Question for Ethan:

You said you had fries from Arby's and a Chicken/bacon sandwich? I thought Dave said that starchy carbs are off limits, no?

NO stims. Let the food do it.

you can stay on this diet as long as you like, but if you want to come off it, introduced carbs back into your diet slowly. like 50g a day at the most.

i forget where i read it but i think dave says to introduce carbs 25g on one meal per day and progress over a 2 wk span to where you have 25g per meal.

man i keep hearing mixed answers about taking stims while on this diet. basically, a stimulant is something with caffeine right? but you can have coffee on this diet, so that is another reason of question. just wanna get the best results, if Dave says no hydroxycut, then no it is; just looking for a straight answer. i would def. work out better if i took it. maybe i'll just wait till the last 4 weeks before i start taking it; that's what everyone seems to do

I used caffeine (red bull no sugar and monster 0 carb drinks) for the entire 8 weeks I was on Palumbo diet. It seemed to help keep me thermogenic and help big time with the fat burning during training. Heres a pic of myself after 8 weeks on this diet. Not sure of my body fat % but I'm guessing around 10 or 11 %.

That sounds like a good plan. I injured myself while on this diet and could not train. I began eating like **** with plenty of carbs and gained 11 pounds of pure fat in like two weeks. You definitely have to reintroduce carbs slowly.

I think so because I was definitely feeling a little drained and unmotivated once I started the diet. The caffeine had me jacked and attacking the weights and giving me energy all the way thru my cardio sessions of 40mins to an hour.

The hormone cortisol has been studied for years and there are studies that suggest it increases weight gain and some say it does nothing at all. So if I were you, try some stims for the first couple of weeks to increase your energy for training. If you notice any adverse affects while on this diet cut them out.

i thought the problem with cortisol (for us) was that it broke down muscle tissue...am i wrong on this?

I just went back and read the first post again and you are correct. Cortisol also will slow down your fat loss making you have to stay on the diet longer. I kept my protein intake a little higher then the diet calls for with one extra 50g shake a day and a can of tuna every other day and lost very little muscle. I was drinking a lot of caffeine on this diet because I'm a stim junkie I say take the stims if you need an energy boost!

Go clean for 2 weeks then you can have your first cheat meal. After that, once a week, last meal of the day.

It depends how much peanutbutter you use each meal. A 3lb jar would last me about 1.5-2 weeks since I only use pb for 3 of my meals. Also, a tblsp pb should be 28g.

No I don't, but maybe you should stretch out more and drink more water. This diet shouldn't cause you to cramp, it would be something like lack of water or not stretching enough.

my digital kitchen scale comes in the mail tomorrow; goodbye to always wondering if my tablespoon of PB is actually a tbsp, or more/less, and also the chicken and salmon MUAHHAHA

question: if i weigh the chicken drumsticks (with bone), boil it, eat it, and then weigh out the bone (after boiling and eating), and subtract the difference, will that give me the weight of chicken i ate, or does boiling do something to the weight of the bone?

Just weigh your food cooked. Take the chicken off the bone and weight it out.
