yes, have a wider grip, close grip places more importance on the tris and wider grip is more focused on the chest

how wide are you saying though? cuz if i go to wide that might defeat the purpose of "close grip presses"

wider grip? uhhh....no. it's called "close-grip bench press" for a reason. keep the grip close.

when laying back onto the bench you should have pulled your shoulder blades together, like your trying to make them touch. dig those shoulder blades into the bench. this will help create that arch that you need. also, try not locking out, go just short of lockout to keep pressure on the chest.

This is an exercise more suited towards developing the triceps. You can pack on huge amounts of weight and really put mass on quick.

I sometimes find that by bringing my elbows in close to my sides it puts a slight bit more pressure on the pecs. But if pecs are what your targeting with this exercise, it may be like doing bicep curls to grow your forearms...not very effective.

yer close grip bench presses ARE for your triceps not for your pecs. if u wanna target your pecs go with a normal grip bench press.
