Agree, I think the essay is BS anyway, although mine will be great!!

As SORE as you are!!! I can now finally sit down on the toilet again without being in pain due to squats! LOL, and that lasted for three days. Hopefully after leg day today it won't be as bad this time around.

Had my top two wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. If I get enough calories in today, I should be hitting the gym though =D.

She only gave that as a reason. Love is LOTS deeper than appearance. My wife is mid-stage Alzheimer's but I still love her as much and want to serve her in any way I can. You'll find someone who will love you for who you are INSIDE and your great physique that you'll get over the next 12 weeks will only be an added benefit to your relationship. My wife said, "I like seeing you," when I got out of the shower this morning. Now that's reward AND motivation

From reading the posts on this forum, I think that a lot of us are using this contest to help work through some other situation in our lives.

Like she said, there are women in this contest. Depending on your objectives, though, you might find the other contest more to your liking.

It's nice to see a girl post on the forum. I encourage it. As much as I'd like to win, I'd still be deeply satisfied to see any woman win this year, in all honesty. I, however, am getting a sort of natural high from competing alongside soldiers. I've been fascinated by military history since I was a teenager, so for me its like coming full circle; a time to apply what I have read so much about.
P.S. I finally got my supps today; the Shredded Stack, Halo, Nitro-Tech and Vitakic. If anyone is using the Shredded Stack, are you planning to follow the meal suggested in the book, tweak it or follow your own diet? I have no problem with it, but I am curious to see what others might do with it.

29 days of progress
Well here's what almost a month of MuscleTech products and nearly every day in the Powerhouse gym has done for me:

(no pump in either set of pics, trying to judge myself realistically)
Not a huge difference yet, but I'm feeling a lot better, am stronger and excited to see how I will look in May! Thanks for all the encouragement, and keep working hard!

You're DEFINITELY making progress! Great work! Keep it up! I hope I'll be able to notice as much difference within my first month.
This first week was slow with the back injury after the ice storm. Had only two light workouts. I decided to go ahead with the Hydroxycut right away to help speed things along. I was going to wait until the 5th week or so until I realized just how little work I'm actually doing this first week. The Hydroxycut is really giving me a boost. That's cool.

Back for More. Let's Try This Again...
Mark me officially back in for round two. I did too well during the first ''annual'' contest (view 2008 first annual contents results: 1. HERE and 2. The Blog HERE) that I figured I'd throw my hat back in for the second version of this contest.
I'm a little late with posting my starting pics, which I took on back January 4th, but I do have a good reason. I've was laid off last year and I have been working two jobs to fill the void while looking for permanent work. Most of my time has been spent going through all the application, interviewing and career services processes ( which are oh so much ''fun''). So, I just haven't been online much.
As far as the contest goes, this time around will be different, as I will not be keeping the overly detailed blogs (like the ones I employed for the first annual contest: HERE and HERE). I want to, but I am going to be too busy with my newly landed job(s) to have the time to keep a detailed web log. My life will be Morning cardio. Work. Afternoon workout/cardio. Night job. Not much time in there for posting online.
For the 2008 first annual contest I primarily used Nitro-Tech products and Hydroxycut Hardcore. I plan to use the same supplements again for version 2.0, but I'll be experimenting with some Leucine timing to see if I can maximize my protein uptake. This means Leukic will probably factor in.
I just want to say go luck to all the competitors. These transformations are supposed to be fun. So have fun with it. My next post most likely will not be until this crazy contest is just about over (early May). If anyone drops me a message, don't be offended if I do not respond. It's nothing personal. I simply will not be online.
Required Starting Pictures (featuring me all fat from the holidays):
Front Relaxed, Back Relaxed, Abs and Thigh, Most Muscular, and Side Chest + Newspaper Close Up (with date circled):

No! Don't do the gym! I had mine out right before the contest and they told me if I worked out too soon I could get the blood pumping too hard and cause my face to swell and possibly pop my stitches! I had to wait about a week till it was healed. And mine weren't even that bad....

Hey all! Sorry I haven't been around! It's been a busy week or so! I haven't started cutting yet (I needed to eat some extra calories to put on some muscle) but I start cutting officially on Monday straight through the end of the contest. However, just lifting and making sure I eat good calories has definitely changed my shape. I'll have pics up sometime today or tomorrow! Go Stillers!
