Honestly I am probably one of the biggest pervs on the planet. Once a day would not even be enough to make me happy. If it stretches to 2 or 3 days I get in a foul mood. Some of you here might say you dont need it but I do. I will take those prostate problems thank you very much.

One of the reasons I enjoy middle age more than being in my teens or early 20's is that sex no longer dominates my thoughts. I mean, sure, I think about it, and I enjoy it when I do it, but it doesn't rule me anymore. I can't even imagine thinking about it like "how many times did I do it this week, or this day, or this month." It may happen 2+ times a day, if the situation is conducive (like a nice vacation with just my wife and me) or it may not happen for a week. Definitley not something I keep too much tabs on 'tho.
(Now, I realize I've opened my self to obvious shots here, but I'm just sayin')

Oh, I'll bet my libido can out-sprint yours any day of the week. It took me years to learn to manage it. And I'm not perfect, but it no longer manages me. It's kind of like eating ... I want the food, but I decide what and how much I'm having. Not the other way around.

i'm the opposite and glad i feel the same libido wise as i did when 20 years old.

Hmm, I don't think I implied that I was in better shape than you, no. That's doubtful. Just have more self-discipline when it comes to sex maybe.

Hormones control your hunger response too, but that doesn't mean you HAVE to eat anything and everything around you. Still a choice.

hmmm I think you have some competition, I can not go two days without sex, 1 day maybe...the only good thing about it is that my wife ALWAYS accommodates me and if she didn't then I would have to have the 5 fingers of death in her place.

I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm 42 and still love sex. What's wrong with that? Now, I'm married and and I don't stray but I get it whenever I can. And if that causes prostrate problems or such then so be it. What's the point of living if you can't do the things that you enjoy. Besides once a month isn't moderation. It's next to nothing. Three or four times a week sounds about right to me and healthy.

Seems like you should listen to your body, in the same way you do for workouts or rest. When you feel you need more, do it.
We all make test at different levels per person and depending on age. We all use it at different rates, depending on workouts, stress etc. Some weeks I am very high libido, even to the point of get this out of me so I can concentrate. Other weeks I am content with less/ or nothing.
Listen to your body, it' knows what you need.

hey some of us women cook that way for ourselves , but in 25 years of marriage my husband cooked twice and he was free to pursue his interests and i never once told him no ,i usually wanted it more than him , so not all women are stereotypical.. i have a healthy house as far as food and i work out now for me

It looks like we have a wide range of answers here. I think a lot of this depends on the stress level of the particular individual and what alls going on in their life at the time. Well, at least I"m that way. When I am super-busy or am stressed, I have very little desire and my wife is the same way. When that happens, we don't worry about it or argue over it.

On the other hand, when we both feel good and are fairly relaxed, etc......it's go-time for us in a big way! It balances out though in the end.....we'll go through a mini-drought, but then, when relaxation and time allow, we more than make up for it in frequency.

I've come across a few articles that say abstaining from sex can cause an increase in testosterone. Somewhere around 2 weeks, but any longer and it will decrease again. Test production also drops straight after sex. So from a bodybuilding view, having sex around every 10 to 12 days may be optimal
