Is this average or above average progress?
I made some changes in the last 3.5 weeks
1. I stopped doing aerobics (btw, I do A LOT of walking up and down stairs at my job...constantly all day)
2. I cleaned my diet up about 2 notches and eat 6 meals a day including protein drink that has l-glutamine and creatine in it...plus I often have extra of those supps if I dont drink the protein drink. Also Im taking 1 Animal Pak a day and 2 on really crazy intense days.
3. Im lifting weights something like this
Chest
Back
Shoulders
Arms
Quads
Hams
Off
Repeat with an ocassional day off if I feel overtrained or Im too busy playing drums at night.
I work out 45 mintues tops, VERY intense, limited rest between sets and 1-2 minutes max between excersises
So in 3.5 weeks here are the results
My body weight is about 1-2 pounds more depending on water....so basically its the same
Legs + 2"
Calves + 1.5"
Chest + 1.5"
Arms + 1.5"
Neck + 1"
Waist no change
Based on your experience is this average or worse than average or better than average?

Are you measuring yourself right after your workout when your all pumped up??
If that is accurate I'd say everyone one would pay to know your secret.

Heh...Seriously...the creatine helps....
I worked out just as intense before creatine and l-glutamine but I would pull muscles and be overtrained and couldnt recover...now I recover within 4-8 hours....and am fresh for the next day.
I also eating TONS more good food.

If you had just started lifting 3.5 weeks ago, measured the first time cold and relaxed, and measured the second time post workout pumped and flexed I think those might be reasonable numbers. Other wise I would measure again, if your numbers remain the same, then my answer would be better than average.

Good job. Your body gained 7.5" of mass and 1-2 pounds in weight..?? Is that correct?

Something is off, it is extremely unlikely that you could add that amount of volume--as expressed in the increase in circumference, and not add much more weight. For example if you arm goes from 15" to 16.5" you will recognize a roughly 10% gain in the volume of the muscle. As water is quite heavy the only way these number make sense is if you had a huge upswing in your total body fat, which is unlikely.

A number of factors could be slightly off.
Maybe I weigh a few more pounds, but Ive weighed myself every day for about a week and half and Im at 183 every time.
Maybe my scale is screwed up
Maybe Im off by a 1/4 inch with my measuring tape?
Maybe I started off a little bigger?....because Im doing the initial measurements from memory...
Either way, Ive had 3 guys come up to me in the last two days and say the same thing..."You are getting thick"....what are you doing?
I also can see abs, so Im attributing it to
1. Ridiculously intense workouts....
2. A 150% increase in the quality of my diet
3. Supplement help (Animal Pak, Creatine, L-Glutamine, Fish Oil)
4. No Aerobics

Yeah, IM in error
Im mixing up my beginning stats from what I remember as lowest (which could have been last year, or a few months ago, or one month ago) with my current stats
I should have thought this out before I posted.
Bottom line
1. Im making faster progress than ever
2. I can SEE the results
3. Others in the gym see the results
4. My diet is working
Okay, Ill neg myself for not thinking before I posted
Im just excited and wanted to share with an appreciative, understanding audience.
My arms DID start at 13.5 and are 15.5 pumped now but yeah, maybe they were 14 or 14.5 a 6 weeks ago.

So, what's the story with the OP? I see he corrected himself, but this was the second post of the same topic that he posted. No pics or much information in his profile... Asking a question that doesn't seem logical... I mean, if the original numbers were true, I don't think anyone needs to ask if it's good progress unless they are looking for compliments... I'm just skeptical about things like this... No disrespect, just doesn't make sense...
Peace...

No you are fine
everyone has every right to think something fishy is going on.
I would.
I have no pics- yet.
I double posted by mistake then people responded to each one.
I should just delete BOTH of them and start over
Im just encouraged, I like this place (in general) and yeah, it doesnt hurt to hear you are doing well...
Okay, Ill quit while Im behind and tape some pics in a few weeks.

Congrats on your success so far. A word of caution; ya might wana lower the intensitiy of the ridiculously intense workouts a bit. From my past experiences that usually leads to burning out and quiting. Maybe pace yourself and add some low impact aerobics 1-2 days per week. The quality of your diet is what you can mainly contribute to seeing your abs, and the added aerobics can only help the process.
Keep up the good work!

You know you are 100% correct.
I was thinking the other day...."This is inhuman.....I cant keep this up"
I guess its why some guys turn to steroids?
I was just thinking , "I need to do at least one day of HIIT or Low Impact and force myself to take a day off"....well, actually my schedule as a musician dicates I get a day off once in a while...because I work my day gig, go home, change get in the car, travel an 1-2 hours and play a concert then get home at 11pm.....so I have to take some time whether I want to or not.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Whats true is the results. What I screwed up on was the timing.
Ive always worked out but it was more like bodysculpting on weight days then lots of running, biking, rowing on the next day.
So approaching things like a bodybuilder HAS meant ridiculous gains in a short time but Im probalby off by a few weeks and a 1/4 inch here and there
I should have said, from when I started measuring myself and got serious about bodybuilding my growth is........

I would think it would have to help.

Actually since Im a jazz drummer I play a lot of intricate, fast, and soft stuff....sometimes Im a little tight....but in general weight lifting helps my drumming in another way
1. Lower stress level
2. Higher self confidence
3. More energy
So in that way it helps

I can say this..in my age bracket I am in the top 2-3 in shape person there bodybuilding-wise.
Lots of runners at the gym and long lankey muscles types.
In the 20-40 range Im way ahead....partly because 99% of the guys either do
1. Upper body only
2. Drink LOTS of beer and eat lots of junk
3. Lift more like a cross between powerlifting and bodybuilding....
SO there are MANY guys with bigger arms or bigger lats or legs but they are out of proportion.
There is one kid who probably could competer tomorrow but his legs and calves look like toothpicks compared to his arms and lats....
I DO have above average shape in chest and shoulders...
My lats and waist are my downfall at this point...
Otherwise I have good genetic proportions considering my height and bone size.

OP
You definitely have a problem being too modest, you should be a lot more self-assured than you are!
