Body fat and shooting blanks
I got my bodyfat measured by a trainer at one of our local gyms. It came back as 16.4%, which is about 6% higher than I expected.
The trainer told me that between 12-18% is healthy and anything under is bad because it can cause a man to become sterile.
Now, as an 18yo, going on 19, I don't want to be sterile, but, I also want to have a six pack and be alot leaner, preferably in the 8-10% bodyfat range.
I just want to know, is there any truth behind what this trainer told me?
I look at certain members BodySpaces (SuperMaine and NickEdge in particular) and each post bodyfat levels as around 6%. No one can deny that they don't look good, and many would love to have that kind of definition, but it seems to cancel out my question. Unless they have not heard about this 'problem' with low bodyfat.
Please, I would like to hear as many opinions as possible.
Thank you.

Double negative. You just said that they don't look good.

*Everything* that works in this field was discovered by real lifters in the gym. Who loves pubmed studies? Supplement companies and their shills.

No truth at all. If anything, libido will increase as you have more muscle as it generally translates into more testosterone floating around your body.

1. Mate anything above 8% you will have no problems with fertility. Eat some zinc & saturated fat,
2. At 71kg you dont want to lose weight. You are about 10%, not 16%. Lift hard & get at least 150g protein per day.
3. You might want to talk to matthor, he was about your weight when he started this thread. He's gone up to 80kg and looks better cuz he put on muscle.

Bro, thanks. That thread is now in my favourites.
And I'd just like to thank all that replied with advice, now I do not feel a touch of fear when I think about getting to my ultimate goal of 6-8% bodyfat.
Thank you.
