Monday- Lower body workout #1
Tuesday- plyometrics
Wednesday-off
Thursday- Lower body workout #2
Friday-off
Saturday- plyometrics
Sunday- Off
instead of doing them on the same day? I thought it would be better to separate them because I'm training for strength and explosiveness, not endurance.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Who was it that gave you advice?

Your footwork and handwork is really crucial to be honest.

How would you set out my weekly lifting and running?
Goals are endurance, power and strength
This is what I was thinking
Monday: Team training
- Anaerobic/aerobic conditioning
- Skill work
Tuesday: ME Upper
Wednesday: Team training
- Anaerobic/aerobic conditioning
- Skill work
Thursday: DE Lower + REP Upper
Friday:
Slow jog
tempos
Saturday: ME Squat
|
You could look at agility etc in the morning and lifting in the afternoon

it's hard to fit plyos and weights in the same session i agree. I usually do some complex training in order to get some explosive stuff in with weights, but the volumes on the plyos and weights are compromised a bit. Looking at ur schedule, won't u be sore after ur weights day on monday? Doing a plyo workout sore the next day may not be the best idea. I would switch mondya and tuesday's workouts, that's my advice, right now, i'm doing plyos on monday, and thursday, and then weights on friday, no complex stuff, just heavy weights.

I have suffered 3 ankle sprains in the last 3 weeks.
I need some help on how to streghten the ankle that keeps getting sprianed and how to prevent it.
Also I need a workout to get faster. I am already using MAx-ot and its working alright. I am using the VJB for my vertical, but my ankle injury keeps setting me back. So i need an agility workout thanks.

LOL> Farzmak was right....

What is the definitive answer?
Thanks in Advance
I've always advocated that there is enough calf work with speed, drills and plyos to make separate calf work, not only unnecessary, but counterproductive.
Apparently the second guy agrees with me that the first guy doesn't know what he's talking about.
I don't mind when a guy is wrong, but when he backs up his arguement with bogus facts, he drags others, without access to the real facts, down with him.
If you really want to know what is actually done with World Record sprinters, instead of getting distorted rumours why not get your information from this site, which has produced World Records?

Hi,
I want to start training, but not bodybuilding, just getting in better shape to help with sports.
I know there are different types of training (ex: dry, muscle gain, cardio, etc) and I am not sure of which type of training is best for me.
I only practice individual sports (gymnastic, martial art, ski and motocross).
I would assume gaining muscle is only for having a better look, because in Martial arts and Gymnastic, athletes usually aren't really big but are amazingly strong!
I know that I also need very good cardio for these sports, but not sure in which proportion it is best to do.
Would you guys please help me finding a type of training, or redirect me to a book, article or website that would correspond to my needs. Thank you!

Yo,
I'm a 17 y/o guy training for track. I want to run the 400/800. This will be my second year running. Honestly, I am freaking weak. I just recently got Starting Strength by Rippetoe, and I'm planning on going to the weight room (and dealing with the damn football players) to squat, deadlift, press, bench, and do pullups.
PRs are 59 for the 400 (last spring) and 1:43 for the 600 (this winter). I can honestly say I'm crazy dedicated, but have no idea what I'm doing wrong. My times haven't gotten better since my first season last winter! I think part of the problem may have been being too vain and trying to loose weight. I'm over that now and just want to do well. Any tips, workouts, lifting programs? Thanks a lot man.

I hear free runners use that, and it works pretty well.
...not to take away from the guy you are asking though
