going from chest twice a week to once a week, think my bench will go down or plateau?
i just finished my 1st week of my new routine, and i loved it. 10x better than my original.
anyways, i used to work chest twice a week, 9-10 sets on both days. i BB benched at least once a week, about half the time twice a week. naturally my bench increased a lot, i'm at 265 currently. now, i only work chest once a week, and i switch off between DB bench and BB bench every week, so i'm only BB benching once every 2 weeks.
my new chest routine is awesome, had the best chest pump of my life and overall best chest workout ever. i fear that my bench might go down tho. strength isn't that important to me, as i mainly care about my physique rather than strength, so i'm doing this new routine to add better shape to my chest. bench has always been important tho cause me and my friends always brag about who has the best bench hah.
i figure it's not gonna go up as fast a rate, i just don't want it to drop or anything. what do u guys think?

your bench wont go down. if anything might go up since your allowing more time for recovery

idk about this. 7 or 8 days is a whole lot of rest and is probably unecessary. this once a week may do well for a little while, but i imagine when you do eventually go back to 2 times a week your gains will increase greatly again.

i'm only resting 6-7 days but close enough i guess. doing this tho, i'm more sore than i've ever been from a chest workout. i did chest yesterday and i'm still feelin it pretty hard.

to all people say benching 1 a week is too little
look at rippetoes, all 3x5, 5x5 and most strength routines,
you bench 2-3 times in 14days.
OP to me benching 2x a week is over kill, unles i do 1x the following week. U will add more strength now, its different workout so ur muscle will be shocked.
to ur friends:
squat

It would only go up if he was overtraining before which isnt very likely
