What should a vegatarian do ?
Everyone who i serious about body building has a daily plan for their meals; which are about every 3 hours. Most of these have chicken sandwitches and turkey sandwitches in them.
I would like to have a healthy meal plan but i have no idea where i would get my protein from. Could someone help please. ??
Thanks.

hes 129 lbs, so if he takes in 1.25x protein, he needs around 160grams, now please find someone who takes in most of 160grams of protein from beans, quinoa, and nuts.

Milk, cheese, eggs. In addition, lentils and beans are very rich in protein (about 25% of their caloric energy is from protein). For snacks, you could have Morningstar burgers, most of these are very low fat and have reasonable amounts of proetin (10-12 grams per patty).

He's vegetarian, it's easier for vegetarians because they can have eggs, cheese, and milk. I was vegetarian and got 200g of protein without touching a supplement.
I was specifically speaking of you saying that vegans need supps to achieve their protein goals for the day. Here's a website: http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/php...t=570&start=15
Some of those people use supps, some don't. 160 grams of protein is nothing.
It's hard for meat eaters to imagine sitting to eat and not having something on your plate that weighs 4 oz provide 30-40 grams of protein. Vegetarians and vegans are more creative about meal choices because there are no plant sources that are as protein dense as animal flesh - but that doesn't mean that we can't get our daily protein.
Had you said a raw vegan diet makes it difficult to get protein and that supps may become someones best friend, then yes, we can talk about that and I would agree. I'm currently researching food options so I don't have to spend a gazillion dollars on raw hemp protein.

Is there a particular reason you dont eat meat? If its just the way you grew up trying eating meat see if you like it. Otherwise try nuts, beans, lentils, and if you need it supplements.

Make sure to get enough B vitamins, iron, and protein in your diet. You may need supplementation in order to do this, or in order to do this easily.

First of all I am a vegatarian, not a vegan.
And i have tried eating meat, the only reason i dont eat it is because both my parents are vegatarians, so i dont get meat at home and i dont eat out that much (i bet it would be a different story if my parents wernt good cooks, thankfully they are)
Whenever i go out with my friends i try meat, but im not that fussed about it, although i have to say that some meat ive tried tastes nasty.
so for protein, should i just eat nuts and cheese and things like that ??

can you eat eggs?
Eggs and egg whites (liquid) are a great source of protein.
You can also try whey protein shakes.
Nuts for snacks are good. Since you are skinny, I would go heavy on them. Something like 3 or 4 servings if you can afford it.
Also try Kashi's high protein cereal. It is made with soy protein.
You can also make PB&J sandwiches: easy, affordable, cheap. If you make a good sized one, you will get about 13g of protein per sandwich. I eat 2x of those per day sometimes... Plus my eggs, etc... I eat fish... Have you tried fish?
Also TVP is really high in protein. A TVP chilli with beans is a great source of protein and fiber....

Kind of Surprised!
Everybody here has given you great advice so far but they have left out one of the major forms of protien for a Vegan and Vegetarian. That would be TOFU and that can come in many forms such as hot dogs, patties, and a wide variety of other things. Second start to read a lot of labels because some cerals and other foods are having protein in them.
There are many sources of protien and I would recommend that you talk to a nutritionist that would be able to help you meet your goals and could give you a specific diet that meets your needs. Good luck and have fun because next to hard work a good diet is important.
