Clarify recommendation versus requirement, please.
Victor Tenuta,
"I love you, man!"
You stated judges will review the Progress gallery photos. Does that mean that photos are not required in this thread?
ONLY the Progress gallery pics are required?
Please advise. Thx.

I believe you are not wrong, Curt. Cut and pasted from the official rules:
"Once you've completed your transformation, post your After photos as per the "Requirements for Pictures" section (below) on your BodySpace profile (in the Progress Photos section) and post your Essay on the official contest forum thread."
Besides the fact that it seems illogical to say how well a product works for you before you take it, it would also be a logistical nightmare for the Reps to have to search what will surely be the entire 839 page thread to find each and every essay. Having everyone post essays the day after it ends makes more sense, at least I would think so if I were the one having to read a couple thousand essays in a day or two!

What paper can we use for our pictures?
Please someone help these guys taking pictures with their local paper, Just because it says world news, newstimes doesnt make it a National Newspaper. So far the only papers we can really use for sure is USA TODAY
Wikipedia says " The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today" are considered to be national newspapers.
One more paper that got the nod was Stars and Stripes, Thankyou Victor for finding out.

that's what I thought. they typically want to see how the transformation process not only changed you physically but mentally (AKA I NEED CARBS OR I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!!)

My Contest Essay
I?ve decided to enter the contest for me? Of course and always I?m competitive and want to win, and I?m not going to get the mindset to settle for anything else? I feel that will also help my training? If I have no other options then it?s hard to settle for any thing less? The contest ends two days prior to my one year anniversary of being discharged from Active Duty (Honorable)? I felt horrible, I couldn?t believe that I wasn?t a leader, that for a very long time I was not an example that other Soldiers could follow? I became extremely depressed and even more overweight? I swore that I would change!
I?ve lost a lot of weight and now more than ever I want to reengineer my body to take on the rigors and demands that are associated with military life? I entered this contest to give me the extra incentive for myself and be apart of something that can take me in the direction I want? Good Luck to every one and as always any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I?m going off of the BB.com Twelve week videos and Team Scivation training? No I?m not adding them together; I?m just trying to put together a plan for me? At the gym there are trainers but can?t do any more one-on-one time like before ? So I?ve enlisted the help of one of the trainers ?Skinny Man? to periodically check on my form or show me how to do the exercises correctly. My work out partner is Chris he too is trying very hard!!!

WHAT??? The Eagle isn't a National paper? DAMN!!! LMAO!! I'm jk cause I delivered that paper for over 3 years. They were actually very good to me. Anyway girl best of luck to you not that you'll need it as good as you look.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a T-shirt that I purchased from Bodybuilding.com that has a saying on it that reads?..
"Obsessed" is just a word the lazy use to describe the "Dedicated"
So far for 2009 I like to say that I am Dedicated to the point of being Obsessed!
For the past 2 weeks I have been working out like a mad man hitting the gym everyday and pulling double workout and cardio sessions. My diet has also been perfect.
The results of my hard work are really starting to show. I found myself standing in front of the mirror the other day and it was kind of strange. That was still my face on my head staring back at me but I found myself thinking, "Whose damn body is that??" LOL!! It looked as though someone had Photo Shopped my head onto someone else's body. It was actually pretty damn cool.
I am really leaning out but my weight has stayed steady at 216. I'm actually starting to see abs. I knew I had some but it seems strange looking in the mirror and seeing them. I now have firm rounded pecs instead of soft flabby mits (man tits). I have cuts and striations across my chest and delts and I actually have a lat spread instead of the love handles. Damn this contest has been the best thing that could have happened to me. Thanks MuscleTech (is my sucking up too obvious? jk lol)

Diet may have stalled out already. I was expecting this but no this early. To early to tell for sure because I did a big calorie dip and may have just gotten used to seeing the quick pounds coming off.
I will stay with the diet for another week until further adjustment is necessary. Right now I'm just on a low calorie/low fat diet. Carbs haven't been cut yet so I still have that as an option to eliminate. I'm still taking in around 100-200 carbs a day. I can always drop my carbs down later if needed but would rather not while lifting for now. I may have to start carbing up before lifting then be off carbs at other times.
But for now things stay the same, 1800 calories a day intake, low fat. If I don't see a pound or two come off by this time next week then other measures may have to be taken.
Next quick pound drop will be a modified Stillman's diet. I will lose 10 pounds on that then increase carbs again at the same time increase cardio.

Where is everyone getting their motivation from besides others on the forum? Personally, others in the gym, my favorite wrestlers (Ric Flair and Triple H), as well as my friends here at school are all giving me, in one manner or another, motivation to succeed.

I will probably up my calories, lower my carbs prior to bed and stay on go low fat for my next move.
After that I will space out my meals in 2-3 hour time frames, 200 Calories per meal.
I'm good on the bulk muscle I believe so I'm just trying to maintain.

this is my opinion anyone else can share if they want, but dont come off blastin me....YOUR 6'0 FT, 200+LB AND ON A 1800 CAL . LOWCAL/LOWFAT/LOW CARB PLAN, IM GONNA SAY, WAY TOO LOW FOR 12 WEEKS, THE POUNDS CAME OFF QUICKLY LAST WEEK BECAUSE IT WAS PROB A JUMP START FOR YOU MY MAN. I THINK YOUR RIGHT BOUT INCREASING THOSE CALS BECAUSE YOUR AT THE MINIMUM CAL INTAKE FOR A MALE, EXPECIALLY FOR YOUR HEIGHT AND WEIGHT. YOUR PROB LOWER THAN 25% OF YOUR MAINTNACE.....MY ADD WOULD BE: SUBTRACT 15-20% CALS FROM YOUR MAINTANANCE AND NO LOWER THAN 25% IF YOUR LOOKIN FOR THAT RAPID FAT LOSS...BUT DONT STAY ON IT FOR LONG
